can the sabres terminate a contract?

I am thinking about Kasdorf

- homiedclown

I would terminate half the roster of Rochester lol

I'm pretty sure me and you can pick out the players that are not going to have a future with the Sabres

sabres have 25 players signed for next year

24 after expansion pick

the rfa's
lehner
foligno
girgens
larsson
e-rod
ullmark
dupuy (I'd cut)
kea (I'd cut)
austin
schneider

of they signed all but the 2 I would cut that puts them at 32

ufa's
gionta
kulikov (bye bye))
franson (bye bye))
cor (bye bye))
mccormick (bye bye)
nilsson (bye bye)) unless ullmark gets picked and petersen walks
grant (who the hell knows)
bodie (keep)
burgdoerfer (on the fence)

lots of room to add contracts

you gotta find a way to unload at least one of Bogo and Ennis.. Gorges is what he is and is only signed for one more year i would just keep him and throw him in the bottom pairing. i would try to move Bogo first but that is a very very hard sell to someone.

i would make sure we re-sign lehner to a 3-4.5 contract for 2 or 3 years.. not sure i would go longer and after his numbers this season i doubt he would either for that dollar amount.

I wonder if the foligno experiment comes to an end in 2 weeks
- homiedclown

i have nothing against foligno if they would just use him properly. put him on the 4th line and pay him 1.75 mil.. that is the spot he needs to be in and be happy with it. he is not a top 6 winger alongside Jack Effing Eichel

He's done everything that can be asked of him this season...I'd like to see him work on his PK to see if he can be one of the regulars for that, but as far as scoring goes that will go up when the whole team gets better.

They are both taking the heat but Murray is starting with the blame game. The players are getting tired of this, hard to grow up when you treat young men like kids.
- SABRES 89

This could *potentially* be the underlying problem, even on the ice to an extent. The kids, who essentially run this team, still wind up with less ice time/chances than the vets who will in all likelihood be gone when this team competes.

It fits in well with what Elliot Friedman said in his 30 thoughts, that the real rift is between vets who think they're being squeezed out and yet every now and then you see eichel wind up with the 6th most ice time among forwards(pulled that number out of thin air, obviously).

There's a disconnect somewhere and PR reasons or not they need to address or fire that before they cant start building a winner.

Because that's worked so well in the past

edit: all this "friend" culture is annoying. Cal for ROR, E-Rod for Eichel, Eichel for Vesey, Stafford for Parise ( ), Moulson is somebodies godfather, etc, etc...

They should. We have the potential to free up about a dozen contracts this off season.

I mean, clearly it deterred Smith from signing, and potentially Antipin as well.
