Was Chicago and Pittsburgh trading their best players at the time for picks and prospects and then "ending up" with multiple top5 picks tanking? If so, I am definitely on team tank.
Thank you Carol. Your reads are always a pick-me-up.
I come here and joke........because I am a fan. Being a fan, it turns my stomach to even think about cheering to lose. The irony is......the tankers are right. The more we suck, the better the pick. (in theory)
Thinking logically, aim for losing every game and pick two (in theory, lotto dependant)
So......................................Question.
Why the fuk are people even thinking about line combos, and annoyed when we don't talk hockey?
And I'm not convinced spending millions on a top end coach is worth our time here given the current culture/lineup. Willie did good with Bo, Tree, Stech, Granlund and baertchi why not give him a shot with Boeser Juolevi?
And what kind of message does hiring a multimillion dollar coach send to the season ticket holders? That playoffs are back on the radar? I know that the goal but sheesh we are years away. Why bring in a Gallant/Hitchcock style coach when the Sedins are running the club anyways? We'd be better off if the Sedins retired and Hank was the head coach and Daniel and Burrows were the assistants. - LordHumungous
I would not hire a high end coach until the twins and Edler are gone
Blysma probably the best. They say his system are too complex though.
I dont know Hakstol. Def NO to Ruf and tippet. - SMBDragon
My point was/is this: there isnt a better coach available.
The players seem to like Willie, personally I've think they've played well for a team that is in tatters. We have no forward depth, a bunch of D in over their heads playing too many minutes and no first line. No coach changes these realities or fixes these problems. No amount of sword analogies makes up for talent and depth.
If we win the lotto and get a legit young center to push/compete with Bo AND Beoser comes in and has a 60 point rookie season then maybe (BIG maybe) we have something to complain about. We aren't the winnipeg jets, there's alot of reasons that aren't coaching as to why this team is poop.
then seems Goldy goes down soon. The Comets play regular season an extra week after Canucks end theirs. So the latest by the Oilers games he's packing for Utica.

I hope so, Boucher/Boeser are outplaying him right now. He should go to Utica for the playoff run, instead of playing 8 minutes a night, I'd rather Labate or some other AHL dregs play those minutes for the last games. I don't want to see Goblin get used to being in the lineup without working for it.
I like Rasmussen, personally, he's a hulk. In our range too, probably has the size to plug into our 3rd/4th line next season. Surrey kid too - Crazybagoham
his poor 5on5 play has been pointed out, deservedly so, before. He's not as good (hulk or not) on paper as Vilardi, Middlestadt or Necas IMO. We need center that can run a offense, plain and simple. We've got our defensive stud/leader. I'm hoping we win the lotto and end up with Hirshier
Slip Bettman a few weekend passes for the Chicken Ranch? - we_are_all_canucks
maybe that's what Linden is doing with him in China. Anything to wipe off TL's look from last season's drop. Giving Bettman some "Yellow Fever" may do the trick
Hi Carol, I also don't think that Green is the best candidate going forward, Willie should be here until the Sedins are retired, or at least one more year.
I read that Green should be credited with keeping his team competitive with all the call ups, then on the same level Willie should be credited with having to ice and coach AHL poor talent. - Makita
I agree .
I hope Canucks don't cave to the media pressure. I think it is stupid to fire a coach and have him teach a system to his team when the vets will be gone in a year.
