When edmonton was bad they had nothing other than eberle who is most overrated player in the nhl. I dont think they have a draft pick on the team who they didnt take in the 1st round even today after like 7 years.

If WD did go to an NHL club with a deeper better roster I'm willing to bet he would have some mild success similar to Torts, AV and Sullivan. And then guys in here would b!tch cry and whine about the shoulda woulda coulda thing. See it for what it is. 90% of coaching is extremely similar through the CHL to AHL and even to the NHL levels. Sure WD still has stuff to learn...but he didn't win championships at every level prior to the NHL because he is an idiot.

Well....I hate to be the one to bear the bad news, but we don't have as many games played from the second round and beyond if you go back to 2008. Only Hutton and Tryamkin have played any number of meaningful games for the Canucks.

That's two guys in nine years of drafting. Both teams have been brutal if we're being honest.

For sure. One could argue that was a decent roster and all but still IMO that was not really a PO team that year...and somehow Willie managed to get them in.

true enough but at least we have a couple guys coming along. still gona be a few years of grinding poop hockey but at least were finally a team with direction(i think) instead of just making randoms moves in both directions.

Dahlin is freaking unreal though. I haven't watched any tape on Svechnikov but man I have spent tons of time watching Rasmus highlight videos and holy f*CK is that kid good.

It seems like next year the majority of top 10 are dmen and wingers, very few centers which is kinda opposite from this year.

But top 7-8 are all supposed to be on the nico patrick level if not higher. Sucks we bottomed out in a poor year.

Really hoping we can unload edler this summer and sedins choose to move at the deadline for a chance at the cup. Quickest way to add additional picks. If not its going to be a long few years.
