Yeah the good drafting tag went out the window a loooooooong time ago especially when as a manager you don't have the right people in place to develop those picks. Snow really isn't good at anything in fact he's more terrible at everything than anything else.
Listen, I hate the guy. I'm not sitting here trying to defend his honor. But he has made some extremely savvy draft-day moves. Moving up to get Barzal, Ho-Sang, and Beauvillier at the cost of nothing but Griffin Reinhart and some mid-round picks was excellent. Lee in the 6th round. Sorokin/Soderstrom in the 3rd.
There is some really good stuff he's done. Doesn't change the fact that he's an abortion of a GM, on the whole, but it also doesn't mean I can't give credit where credit is due. - eichiefs9
This is why your wife left you. Stop being rational when we're trying not to be. Stupid rational thought and credit given. Jesus, man.

I don't consider it the cost of nothing when it's a failed 4th overall pick.
I think a more accurate description is he potentially fixed a problem that he created to begin with. Also Sorokin and Soderstrom haven't played an NHL game yet and they're goaltenders. They can be complete flops and who the (frank) knows if Sorokin will ever come here? Can't give credit or celebrate something that hasn't happened as islanders fans we should know that (Petrov, kabanov, you know the list).

Yeah I didn't say the guy was perfect.

I'll give Garth credit there, he DOES kill it at the draft. He just doesn't seem to have the patience to let the players actually grow into what they can be, and really (frank)ing blows when it comes to putting the right pieces together.

I mean..every draft pick hasn't played an NHL game yet so it's kind of tough to fault them for that.
I didn't say he was good at developing his picks, but in terms of building a good prospect pool he has done a good job, on the whole. That doesn't mean they'll all pan out. Right now Sorokin/Soderstrom are extremely valuable assets. Will they be the next Bobrovsky/Lundqvist? Probably not, but right now they have value.

Stop being so reasonable! This is hockeybuzz where everything is black and white, and no shades of gray. Yes, Snow has made some good picks, like the proverbial blind squirrel that stumbles onto the occasional acorn, or the broken clock that is accurate twice a day.

Playing in Sweden's 2nd tier pro league and is a PPG player. He is skinny as a rail and needs to bulk up, but he has one hell of a skill-set. - eichiefs9
I like him. Approved. He is really skinny. Get him over here in the weight room and eating steak, he'll bulk up in no time. Get him away from eating fish and veggies and crap like that.

Good news is since he's playing in Sweden he'd be eligible to play in the AHL as soon as next season.
But I think he'll be gone before 12. Purely my own opinion, but I think he's the next Zetterberg.
