I did not expect a long playoff run, but I did expect the playoffs.
- ses111

Expectations in one hand, dogpoop in the other. See which one fills up first. This organization is a joke (I know, it has been for decades now).

I looked at the potential points numbers and the Isles are done unless they win out and Boston, Tampa Bay, Carolina and possibly Philly all choke.

Toronto 101
Boston 98
Tampa Bay 97
Carolina 96
NY Islanders 94
Philadelphia 92

Some more fun numbers:

Toronto - Won last 2
Boston - Won last 3
Tampa Bay - Won last 4
Carolina - Won last 2

- JimmyPNY Islanders - Lost last 3
Philadelphia - Won last 3

Way to step up guys!

Isles fail at completely failing
- ses111

That they do. Pathetic. If Snow isn't gone this off-season, I'm done with this team until he is.

If the season ended today, the Islanders would be looking at the 12th overall pick, assuming the lottery balls fell as the standings are.

I know Snow has had a few good picks (and bad ones too). I just have that feeling that, say they get the 12th, Snow would either take a flier on someone that was projected mid-late 2nd or trade down a few spots and do the same thing. Not sure why, just a feeling. Like his ego took a hit this year and he's "going to prove" how smart he is by thinking he knows more than everyone else. Again.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but the next things of note for Islanders fans to pay attention to are the expansion draft and the entry draft.

I'll never buy tickets to another game. If someone buys me tickets I will not waste them. I'll still watch the games and skip games like this year if they are bad.

I'll look forward to both drafts if we have a new POHO and GM.

Nobody has a perfect track record in the draft, and I hate Snow, but he's done a pretty good job drafting. I don't think he's taking any second round picks in the top 15 of this draft.

If all their coveted players are off the board by the time they pick, I'm not against moving down and stockpiling more mid-round picks...but I think they'll get a decent player. Not a banner draft year, but around the 10th pick they'll still get a valuable prospect.

I know you and others have said it's not that great of a draft class. My point, and it's just me being pissy about Snow, is that his ego got bruised this year. Not making playoffs, 3-goalies, re-calling Halak, etc, he'll try to make some move to show us all that he's smarter than everyone else. It's just a gut feeling, nothing more. That & I want Snow gone. Stop being rational to my irrationality.

Well the hope is that he doesn't make it to the draft to have the platform to make a statement.

Tell you what though, if this kid is still on the board when we pick....I like him.

Yeah I didn't say the guy was perfect.

Listen, I hate the guy. I'm not sitting here trying to defend his honor. But he has made some extremely savvy draft-day moves. Moving up to get Barzal, Ho-Sang, and Beauvillier at the cost of nothing but Griffin Reinhart and some mid-round picks was excellent. Lee in the 6th round. Sorokin/Soderstrom in the 3rd.

There is some really good stuff he's done. Doesn't change the fact that he's an abortion of a GM, on the whole, but it also doesn't mean I can't give credit where credit is due.
