perfect illustration. Sad. We really rolled over. Agree, I think if we fired Cappy to start season and avoid all the 3 goalie drama we could easily be 10-15 point higher in the standings.
You cant win by limping into the playoffs. Win early in season and save your energy for playoffs.
Hate to go there but JT really might not be a good leader. One Hell of a players but he has really been invisible from Rangers game on. - Spartiarti
The decrepit start to the season is to be shared by all, Snow, Cappy and the f**king players. The team played like total s**t for three months. That's an incredibly difficult hole to climb out of, especially in the era of the "loser point". If the Isles had just been at a legit .500 level over the first three months, which is not asking a lot, they'd be comfortably in a playoff spot right now. Instead, they didn't realize the season started in October and not December and they're paying the price now.
I can't roll JT under any bus. The guy has been clutch so many times in his career. It would be nice if the team played f**king defense and could figure out a way to score a PP goal once in a while.
Its so disappointing. This team should be in the playoffs. It has the talent to be. But they just shoot themselves in the foot with the slow starts, late collapses and lack of urgency in their play.
I gotta believe change is coming. If Snow goes, I hope the next GM is a seasoned, experienced guy with some success on his record and that he considers hiring Michel Therrien as the next coach. The guy has won everywhere he's gone and has done well with young players. |

i agree. he is the kind of kick in the ass they need. he'll wear out his welcome eventually but by that point they will be much better |

yes missing playoffs is going to burn and hopefully its a motivator for JT and the boys.
Snow should be fired for missing Business with Pleasure.
We need to get another strong compliment to JT. Duchene could be it. Strome and Nelson are not becoming the #2 centers were hoping for.
Strome actually is terrible. Nelson has skill, size but just lacks Desire. (like Bailey)

Some light reading, S. Thornton on Emelin, to take your mind off things for a little. |

Now that they're out I'm hoping the lose the last 6 games. I fully expect them to go go 4-2. They always step up once it's too late. |

This seems right Jimmy. I hate to root against my team, but wins now are pointless. |

I want them to get a better draft pick. More importantly I want them to be embarrassed to force L&M to do the right thing and clean house. After last nights "playoff game" embarrassment it should already be obvious, but ending the season 0-9 would have all the pundits chirping too. |

Would be best for the better draft pick and for real changes with this team. Cannot believe how this team went into the tank after wins against the Rangers and Pens. |

Even after the horrible start they had a shot to get in, which amazes me. The thing is even if they played better in the beginning of the year and had a spot locked up, they'd be heading into the playoffs playing like crap. Other teams are ratcheting up their play and the Isles are coasting.
I'm in full burn it down mode.

So I am to assume they lost? I made a bet with a friend of mine that if the ISlanders made the playoffs I would build a museum to Josh Bailey since I knew this team was done a while ago.
I didnt even bother watching this garbage last night as like usual they were going to lose. Best thing for them to do is sit everyone at this point bring up half the AHL and let them play since this team obviously is done playing for the year. Next year we need a coach to kick their butts and stop babying them with sippy cups and mid game burpings |

They got no momentum from the good trip and wins against the Pens and Rangers. The playoffs were a long shot, but they put themselves into a good position and blew it. Cannot blame you at all for being in full burn down mode. |

In typical Islanders-fashion they did just enough to destroy a chance at a good draft pick, but not enough to make the playoffs. |

Honestly, after the 1st I expected the flyers to lose. They have a tendancy to just sit back and not really play once they get a lead...especially up five goals. |

That's weird. The Isles have a tendency to not play until the last 5 minutes when losing. |
