They may have missed even if they resigned. I'm not sure Greiss is full time goalie and Halak melted down at the three headed monster. It may have been the same story if they had the same team from last year.

There is no one that would argue that. Snow (frank)ed the team this year for sure. Without even looking at his past summer - not carrying 3 goalies and firing Crappy would have made a huge difference.

perfect illustration. Sad. We really rolled over. Agree, I think if we fired Cappy to start season and avoid all the 3 goalie drama we could easily be 10-15 point higher in the standings.
You cant win by limping into the playoffs. Win early in season and save your energy for playoffs.

Hate to go there but JT really might not be a good leader. One Hell of a players but he has really been invisible from Rangers game on.

I don't think JT leaves. He knows this franchise is his and wants to lead it there. I don't think he wants to go be part of some other NHL superstars team.

I think it says a lot that just about every hockey publication I've read over the last month had the Islanders missing the playoffs even when they were ahead of all of these teams and were "playing well". Some write ups didnt even include the Islanders in the mix of teams. A lot will say it's due to these bloggers and publications picking on the Islanders and I'll say whoever thinks that is completely fooling themselves. Its because this team simply doesn't elevate their game when it's needed. They have no back bone and they don't know how to win and they NEVER want it more than the other team which is what defines all good teams in every sport. Its time for a complete culture change from top to bottom. Time for Snow and every single person he hired to go. Change the culture and make losing an unacceptable thing and make winning a priority. That's what a professional sports team is supposed to do.

What Ledecky does over the next month will define this team for a very long time. If he keeps Snow myself and a ton of other fans will tune this team out. That's a fact. I'm done time for change.

i thought the Isles were looking good after the long road trip and finishing 5-3. Just crazy they come home and cannot win a game after being great at home. I think Greiss covered up a lot of things and finally broke down. It's hard to blame publications and anyone else not having a lot of confidence in the Isles. They do not have a good track record at all. Isles do need to clean house of everyone. Garth, Doug, Dunham. They all need to go and quickly this offseason.
