I love Hayden's game he is one of the few besides Panik that finishes his check every time it's there. He needs to work on his skating but in the playoffs he is a ideal fourth liner for the playoffs. Really surprised he hasn't had a fight yet with how physical he's been. Him and tootoo should be the wings on the 4th once the playoffs start. Desi is garbage, jurco will disappear once the hitting starts has only had one good game. Rasmussen is just filler average in every aspect. Our d needs to play better Seabrook needs to hit and I wonder how Campbell will hold up he sucked last playoffs when the islanders focused on him.
And tkachuck is a pos. He's a spot picker he tries jumping muzzin who doesn't even know he wanted to fight then he goes with Brayden Mcnabb? He should of went with Anderoff who is a tough guy but small around his size. And if he really had balls he would have took on Clifford. Who can be tough but is certainly beatable. The best part of the game was Iginla challenging and blooding Englleand who is a legit tough guy even though he is getting older but so is Iginla.

Assuming Hinostroza is in the lineup come playoff time(which i think he has a chance to earn in the upcoming week or so), the Hawks can ice a lineup with A LOT of scoring depth at forward, just looking at PPG totals for the season...

And when i say "a lot" what i really mean is far more than anyone thought possible looking at the roster on paper during the preseason.

Here are the Point Per Game numbers for our forwards this season(roughly in order of line combos):

Schmaltz-----0.48
Toews-----0.82
Panik-----0.55
Panarin-----0.90
Anisimov-----0.70
Kane-----1.09
Hartman-----0.42
Kero-----0.36
Hossa-----0.62
Hayden-----0.38
Kruger-----0.23
Hinostroza-----0.29

Extra: Desi, Tootoo, Moose, Jurco

I would play the kids. Faster. More productive. Guys like Hayden and Hartman provide the nasty that you get from Tootoo.

As you see, overall the level of production from the kids(and Panik) has been SPECTACULAR. We're very lucky that this team seems to have reloaded on the fly with a dynamic group of young role players that as a group give us speed, nasty, scoring, 2way play, endless energy, and just about every little thing you can ask for out of a supporting cast that needs to compliment a HOF core.

I think the solid play will continue during the playoffs.

I would play the kids for all the reasons you would. Plus they are not afraid to make plays or mistakes.
Tootoo and to a lesser extent Desi play in fear of mistakes and it shows.

If I did the Math right that is 6.84 PPG just from the forwards. D is averaging 2.12 PPG (Keith, Seabs, Hammer, Soup, TVR, Oduya). A total of 8.96 PPG works for me.

Vandy, I agree 99% of the time with what you have to say. Regarding Tkachuk's kid, I only wish SB would have a shot at a 1st round pick with those attributes. The kid is just that19 years old, he probably will look back on this realizing he put his foot in his mouth by even getting in the media after that incident in the 1st place. So he figured , well, I got myself into this crap, now I have to answer, which is the right thing to do, what he should have did is take the suspension as a 19 year old kid, respect Daughty and apologize and move on.but as a young snot he screwed up and got himself in some crap. But Colborn is no slouch, Tkachuk didn't run behind England or another Flames toughie, he handled it himself unlike a couple of guys on our team who will have no part even in scrubs to jump in and help a team mate.
The kid made a dumb ass mistake , he'll learn and move on. JMO, I liked his Dad , I wish the Jets didn't match that offer sheet because his dad would have been part of some nice Hawk teams in the late 80's, early 90's. The kid will be OK.
Curious to see who sits now that the Hawks " cute little mascot" has been recalled, I think Q goes with the Vets come playoffs. Desi and Tootoo are in.

IMHO Kane, Toews, Panik, Hossa, Anisimov (if healthy), Panarin, Kruger, Kero, Schmaltz, Hartman are locks for game 1.

Hayden, Desi, Tootoo, Hino, Jurco, Moose, Motte are fighting for 2 spots. I would be ok with any of the 7. I would probably go with Hayden and Desi. They bring physicality. Hayden has some offensive skills. Desi can help on PK and faceoffs.

On D I just do not see Kempny or Rosi getting ice time until/unless someone has a horrible game or takes a dumb penalty at a crucial time.

after last night Pan is at 69 points 1 point of out the top 10 tied with Wheeler and tarasanko. the Biggest problem is Malkin is at 72 and might not play again this year. He is 2 points back on Assists.

My guess is everybody plays tonight but once we clinch 1st in the west, I wonder if he sits a few guys. Col is up 1 point and has a game in hand. pitt is down 2 with a game in hand. we are not catching Caps but having a better record them COL and Pitt is still important.

I agree with your top 10 , the Dilemma for the last 2 spots do you want PK's/ FO''S (RASS,Desi) so Toews
and Hossa don't get burned out? Speed with Hino? Grit with Hayden or Tootoo?
Tough decisions !!

Big Hayden fan here.

I actually thought he was going to fight the other night when three of the Pens were harassing him in front of the net after the whistle. That was nuts!

Getting 1st in the West should be our only target. All 3 of the teams above are in the same East division. Only 1 will survive to face the winner of the other East division and if Tampa grabs the last wild card spot, they will enter the fray with the Pens, Caps, and Jackets. So the likelihood of us facing a team higher than us is small and if it does happen, this team does play well on the road.
So , Yes, rest our key guys as much as possible after clinching the West.

So - a really dirty elbow to Doughty's head in one game, earning a suspension, then in the next meeting he goes after every player on the Kings (including trying to fight Muzzin on the opening face-off).

This in a game that Calgary could clinch a play-off spot by winning. Which they didn't.

And don't forget the slash to Gaudreau's hand that may have been retaliation for the mayhem.

Selfish play by a 19 year old that while it probably won't cost his team a play-off spot certainly did NOT help his team at the time.

Grow up, Mr. Tkachuk - you too Mr. Milbury - and perhaps some meathead hockey fans who think that both were correct.

- StLBravesFan

Milbury......he being one of several B's going in the stands at MSG to fight fans. Surprise!

They called Calder "Grease". Easy to see why. He would go into a corner 1 on 3 and still come away with the puck most of the time. I always liked him as well.

Bo-bo used to live at the only bar in Hinsdale at the time. He was always there. What a piece of poop.

Hence, why he was known as Boris Smirnoff.

Yeah . . .

Because the Hawks didn't look like a bubble team early on in the year, TVR is a top 4 D-man, and TT was the second coming of Teemu Selanne.

See how that works?

Probably not. So head back over to the cocoon/JV board and get your cookie.

This picture supports the notion that Panik is in very good shape and is quite strong.

There is no reason for Jurco to be getting regular minutes when they have Hinostroza.

I haven't been the biggest Hinostroza fan, but I hope he can bounce back like Schmaltz did when he was recalled.

Jurco has met the GP requirement for the expansion draft so he can sit for the rest of the season. I'm not ready to write him off yet, but I'd wait until next season to see what he can do.

Looks like lines remain the same as they were against the Pens. From practice today:

Blackhawks lines

I think Ted Dent needs some dap here. He's gotten a bad rap at times, but between Kero, Hino, Hartman, Rasmussen, Motte and Schmaltz, they understand the organizations philosophy and it has translated this year.

Hinostroza Deserves to be here ,and the team was playing much better when he was up then when Jurco made his arrival and Vinny was sent down . It's not the size of the dog in the fight ,but the size of fight in the dog ..
