should we get rid of body contact all together?
- Codes1087

body contact? I mean, if a blatant and calculated elbow to the face is what you consider body contact, then yes. how is that BC bud treating you?

Did it really look like much more than a hit to the mouth? Doughty was fine, right? His brain or neck wasn't involved. No need to carry that salt around with you.

so the degree of injury dictates whether it was a dirty elbow? what am I missing here. if Dustin Brown had done that to one of your guys you'd be screaming and demanding that he be kicked out of the league. sorry but your homer is showing

the retribution will come april 6th, not tonight

Really... have you seen any of the Department of Player Safety decisions? It was a message to Tkachuk and thats it.

That equals nothing but an elbow nets two? Hell even this only got one:

I don't smoke, I am just not a whiner. Was his elbow raised trying to absorb a check from Doughty, yah it came up a bit, but you need to get over it. He was suspended, I personally think for a game too long. Am I not allowed to have an opinion? Why is this still even an issue.

If anything it will happen tonight ...there's no way they would risk injury to tkachuk right before playoffs ...if doughty does nothing tonight and then tries something then he will have to answer Engelland...which won't be pretty

first of all, you guys started chirping about the elbow on this thread, not me. All I originally posted was a congrats for clinching tonight, so that sh!t is shut down right there.

your opinion is kind of homer-ish and like I said if this was Dustin Brown on one of your players you would be WHINNING way harder than I did, if at all. all I said is that it was a calculated elbow, he knew where doughty was and he meant to do just what he did. I stand by that 100% and I stand by my assertion that if it were Brown you'd be killing him before the game tonight. the sad thing is that deep down inside you know this to be true.

Honestly dude, I coach bantam 7 and see that sh!t every few games. Hockey is rough. He hit him in the face, didn't injure his neck or brain; I wouldn't even talk to the ref about it.

And Dustin Brown did do that.

What kind of nancy wants players kicked out of the League? If I want to watch safe hockey I'll drive out to a local arena and watch some rec league games.

I said nothing about punishment or whether it happens in hockey all the time or not. all I said was, it was dirty, he knew what he was doing. you want to contest those statements fine, but don't put words in my mouth

just saw the vid you posted... guess what? dirty elbow, he knew where Pomer was and he meant to do what he did. got his games and what? what is your point good sir?

Ummm who's thread?

He meant to do it, yes. Doughty is a female dog, yes-talented but only Brown deserves it more on your team. I think the point in all of this is that (that) elbow didn't deserve a two game suspension. The difference is, with this team, someone would have jumped in if it were Brown on the other side. Your team stood there and went meh...

so yeah, I agree, Doughty is a C|_|NT I would never deny that. I really don't like the guy. he's over rated too, so there is that, my opinion there.

he got the same that Brown got for the same play so are you saying Chucker should have got less for the same play?

also, the chicken sh!t factor in that game was appalling. Chucker should have had his lunch packed immediately so I am not arguing those nuances

You also mentioned (a few times) that the collective fanbase would be whining if it was the other way.

I think the whole point I made was that I wouldn't whine. Because it wasn't all that dangerous.

Also, that was my arguement. Not your's. No words being put in anyones mouth. You want things put in your mouth; head on over to the Oilers thread.

You also avoided the link posted where Dustin Brown pulls a very similar elbow.

ok so now we are talking body of work? lolz

I get that, Browns been at it a little longer and he definitely has done shady crap out there, he also delivered some clean hits and solid physical play as well. Give Tkachuk some time and see if he doesn't go down that path.

I think the league got to Brown in a big way because he has been invisible for the last 3 or 4 seasons. he is no good to our team if he is not playing on that edge.

Yeah, way too many f**ks given in those divs. bumhole kids, the token pushy Alpha dads, effective practice schedules. (frank) that.

I'd rather be Gordon Bombay than that jerk who Coached the Hawks. I bet Hawkbro ran a tight practice..

I personnaly am fine with Tkachuk elbowing Dewey to the cranium. If you're going to act like a moron you deserve to get thrashed. That doesn't mean the team should not have responded. Anyway, this years Kings team obviously don't give a (frank) about anything. Hopefully next year. I know you guys love Sutter. Please take that smelly farmer back to Alberta!
