No he wasn't...Turgeon, Damphousse were better.
And Recchi was (way) better pre-Montreal...and had a brief "resurgence" post-Montreal.
So it's a double-whammy win for me.

but Recchi's trade to Montral coincided with the start of the dead puck era and he went from playing with the likes of Mario Lemieux and Eric Lindros to playing with... not those players. |

i think the trade sucked but more because of losing Desjardins. LeClair was good but come on, he was a 25-30 goal player who happened to fall onto the wing of the most dominant player of the era. |

I agree completely.
Losing Desjardins made the Habs need to rely on Patrice Brisebois to be our #1 defenseman.
