I don't think we see him in Boston at all this year.
- RickJames77

I don't think there is a need to see him this year. He won't jump in and make this team a playoff threat. No reason to take away a year of ELC

Same. I'm done with Spooner. This team needs another center like Dougie needs another beer. Rather he is moved out the way for a better option, potentially either JF-K, Heinen, or 4,000 other centers in the farm.

Losing Spooner will not hurt this team.

That 3rd line is going to be BRUTAL tonight...

Ummm.... yeahhh.... but... if he plays, who sits? Not really wondering whether or not he will play... I'm asking IF HE PLAYS, who do you think sits?

Edit: Also, burning a year of his ELC could have been part of the negotiation to get him out of college and onto the team sooner. Obviously I don't know that for sure, but it's being reported that he will play in Boston this year.

Same deal the Flames made with Bennett I believe.
C. Miller will sit if anyone does.

what's being reported is that he's going to Providence to get acclimated to pro hockey. if for whatever reason he excels they'll figure out a way to make it work in Boston. but they are stressing the need to take it slow. also citing examples like Carlo in Boston and Werenski in Columbus that played in an AHL playoff run to have that help immensely the next year in the NHL. they're going to be cautious and him being in Boston this year should be looked at as not too likely.

Can't wait to watch them collectively poop the bed in person

I must sneak in a 1/2 pint and concoct some drinking game to numb the pain

I think, as mentioned, he's been brought into pro hockey to get acclimated and play in the A the whole year. I think it's a big deal for the Bruins not to burn an ELC on his contract as I think it's a big deal for a sophomore collegiate athlete to get at least a little seasoning in the A before jumping pro.

If he plays his way onto the team before the year is up then that mean he's been an absolute stud and fantastic, but I think they take it slow and wait until next year to see what he has at the highest level.

I would say, to your point, which is who sits that it has to be one adam or colin

Understood.
I was referring to the deal that if you sign now, we will create a spot for you with the big club. A la Bennett.

Yeah I mean, I wasn't bringing up whether he was being signed to an ATO or pro contract. That's already known that he signed an ATO and will start in Providence. I don't know why that's even being brought up.

What I'm getting at is that there are people that have reported/speculated that the Bruins may bring him up, even if just for a game, to burn a year off his ELC. Which may have been part of the deal, and the reason why he left college early. And I was just curious to see what people would want to see for a lineup IF he does get called up.

he left college early to turn pro now. AHL or otherwise. the season is over for BU and he wasn't going to return for is junior year. the ELC has nothing to do with it.

You're right, the ELC has nothing to do with it. So if he plays with the Bruins this season, who would you want to see sit?

B's are 34-17-5 with Hayes "playing". 6-13-1 without

Not really sure what to make of that

If I've learned anything from Tanner it's that #'s never lie.
It's obviously his bench and lockerroom presence that "inbiggen the spirit"of the team.
Donnie should Jump on this and get him locked up long term.

Well he may be one of the biggest objects on the team.......But definitely the biggest pile of poop I have witnessed. Myth busters proved a polished turd, is still a (frank)ing turd
