That's a great point. It's impossible to ask the Rangers win every game they play. You have to chalk it up sometimes the other team is just better. The game last night wasn't one of those game. as you said the Rangers came back, because they were better defensively which allowed them to posses the puck more, ultimately to score. That was just a 15 minute stretch of game play. The other 45 minutes were not good. Not eve acceptable. - tomburton99
On the goals against
1 was hanks fault
2 were Holden
1 was Nash, Smith and or Skjei
The Burns one was just a great shot off a pass
Staal actually looked good I thought. |

did you guys know our #1 overpaid center has goals in 3 straight games? Because it hasn't even been mentioned here. He even got good wood on the shot!! Amazing - Slimtj100
With you,
See a lot of positives happening going into second season.
That's when my heart sinks or soars with every game.
Team is just not grinding yet. |

Zucc and Kreider have been breaking their backs to get him pucks to shoot into a wide open net, lets not get too crazy.
Also on the game winning goal, he was in no mans land, watch the replay instead of sliding over with Burns who EVERYONE in the building knew was getting that puck, he just glided nowhere, not into a shooting or passing lane.
I'm not sold on his "resurgence" considering the goals he has put in are all into wide open nets on cross ice passes where the goalie gets caught and all he has to do is get good wood on the puck (he has missed a bunch of them as well)
I hope spending so much energy to get him goals and get him out of the funk doesn't change Zucc and Kreider come playoff time where they are still trying to feed him instead of putting a shot on net, the WIN is worth more than his goal total or confidence. |

Like I said to your brother, that one bothers me the least cause Brent Burns is going to do those types of things nightly. And if you told me before the game started that Burns, Pavelski, Marleau and Thornton combined to score only one goal against the Rangers I'd be thrilled. But that how poorly the Rangers played vs the other 11 Shark skaters. |

why should Montreal get home ice in the first round vs the Rangers yet still get to pick before the Rangers in the draft? |

Were in! That's all that matters. Could have folded after sj goes up 3-1 nice comeback. Now start resting people play hank the rest of the way. I was reading the pens blog the other day, their hoping the rangers over take them so they won't get bluejackets in first round.they want no part of Columbus.their also already whining about their injuries built in excuse. |

Playoff brackets are so (frank)ing dumb.
Just go back to best vs worst. There is almost no incentive to be the best you can during the season now. |

Montreal is going to be a very tough 1st round, and it would be a very tough first round even if we were on a 10 game winning streak right now |

I consider myself pretty level headed can see the good and the bad. It is getting pretty bad though, with almost constant negatives.
Doesn't mean I don't think the team can't be criticized, hell I do it myself. Its almost as if everyone waits for 1 thing to go wrong and there are 60 posts about it, but a good play gets like 3 posts.

Dead on balls accurate - Slimtj100
I will say with no reservation I feel much more comfortable with guys like Miller, Hayes and Skjei on the ice then I do with the old guard of Stepan and Mcd.
I think the later two have not look good at all in the past 20 or so games and as the Captain and second in command, yes, that worries me. McD seems very passive and gets pushed around, never fights back or stands up for himself. Stepan is in a major funk, and like a few others have said if he cant commit to a Hayes-like offseason, then I hope the Rangers try to move him, because unless he makes changes his game as a whole will continue to decline (and I'm not talking about scoring I am talking about his GAME as a whole) |

none of it has anything to do with how they'll play in the playoffs, good or bad
game 1 in Montreal is going to be insane, we all know how loud it's gonna be, there will be all the Kreider-Price stuff
the Rangers aren't going to not show up for 39 minutes in playoff games in that environment
if you think the Rangers can't beat Carey Price, then you think the Rangers can't beat Carey Price. Nothing that happened last night should affect that feeling either way. |

I don't expect them to win every game but I do expect them to fix their deficiencies and play consistent competitive hockey, they have not done that, they've been a fortunate team, the last 60 minute effort I can remember was that game in Toronto, I'm not even sure how long ago that was, every night there's a lapse that goes for 20 minutes or more, i don't see any urgency or confidence |

Aren't you? With all due respect, whatever amount that may be, the positive posts from a number of people on here are few and far between. Every single loss is treated like it's the end of the world. And after a win, it's like, "well, just wait. They'll (frank) up again."
As I've said before, I see faults. And I may comment on them, but this is the team I have thrown my allegiance to and I will defend them against any other team. For those who only female dog, you'd be better off not having a favourite and just cheering for the most likely winner each night. |
