So we burned 1 year of Molino's 2 year contract, and apparently he is going to see games in VANCOUVER making him ineligible for Utica Playoffs. Essentially his 2 year contract is now turned into a 1 year 2 week contract. Not really sure the reasoning behind this.

He's a longshot prospect, but has to sign a minimum length ELC. Giving him essentially a 1 year deal is the easy way to see if he has promise, otherwise he doesnt get qualified next June and we use that contract spot elsewhere

Brock Boeser Alexander Edler

oh.... I'm not a fan of this... but they are probably short on righties, and want Sutter to win the face-off. Makes sense, seems awkward though

Think Vrbata spot, but a little more energetic and mobile

Loving the outside-the-box idea of putting a shooter on the PP...

I think i read in the province that BB was watching Sutter game tape on the PP to learn where to be/what to do.
Maybe this is a bit more of that, plus giving him a chance to shoot.
They often have Daniel in BBs spot as well i believe.

yes! I'm hoping Boeser will play deep in the face off circle and just try to roof it. Then Edler can just stay on the blue line and stop missing the net.

The lefty/righty matchups don't seem to effect the Sedins as much I've noticed so it might be interesting. Boeser seems smart enough to know when to come back so it should be a decent top unit (IT CANT BE WORSE )

Thanks. Didn't see that. Since they didn't practice expected WD would do what they did last game. Guess the fear of Tanev's shot from the point forced this.

Still disappointed they call it PP1. Plus Sutter still No Goldy or Tree yet. Oh well.

They had Sven there for a while too as a lefty, Vrbata in the years before that. Probably some variation of a 1-3-1 where Sutter and Boeser move up and down for the soft spots to fire one time shots

I honestly won't be surprised if Sutter just takes the face off and swaps with Baertschi, that's what I'd do.

I got no problem with Sutter on the PP. He can win faceoff's and battles in front on the net.

No way Goldy has earned any PP time yet (especially PP1).

Tree? i dunno. Worth a shot i guess, but you don't see that Huge net presence Dman move too often. I suspect there is a reason (it doesn't work too often and the Dman is better utilised playing D).

I've found Goblin's play lazy, Willie obviously thinks so too, i don't think he's played much more than 10 minutes and rightly so.

I'd rather Hutton on the top unit over Edler. Hutton is a really risky player, yes, but he can move the puck so well, and he is really good at keeping pucks in the zone. Though with Boeser playing his right side, the back end might be really flimsy, but hey its a powerplay@!

Yeah that makes sense. Too much emphasis is being made on ELC burning for a team going so young with more cap space then it needs.

Wait does this mean he's coming to Canucks for the next game?

Why not now where they are short on forwards. Anything to keep Larsen out of the line up please. On a brighter note could it mean no Megna return...?

Same.
Quite a bit of coasting out there.
I'm not writing him off, but he's got to earn it first.
And one fluke breakaway goal ain't it.

"earn" assumes the PP is more of a privilege than other ice time... In reality, the objective of every second that ticks off the clock during a hockey game is to use the talent available on your roster to win. Goldobin should be utilized during situations that suit his skillset and IMO that includes extra ice situations (man advantage & 4 on 4). To wait until he thrives in situations that don't suit his skillset in order to finally use him in situations that do suit his skillset is a huge waste of time.

It's not the earn time of season. It's like the try preseason. But anyway haven't seen Sutter or Megna before him earn it. That power play has sucked so much. Why not do more changes. Well BB is one good step.

The kids a high IQ, offensive driver.
If fans are expecting him to be a grinder we might as well just label him a bust now and get it over with.
