this list makes me sad

That is the list of trying for one spot . Things will change .

We have the draft this year and soon guys like Gaudette Juolevi Brisebois Demko Dahlen and Lockwood will be the names we are talking about

I thought I had saw something online that had said he wanted to stay 1 more year in Europe and felt that the extra ice would be better for his development than North American ice. I will have to look and see if I can find it.

And its going to be one more year, at least, of this type of hockey. I think the 2018/19 season is one we can look forward to. One more year of guys developing and the Sedins finally being off contract.

by the time next season is upon us it will likely be a very different looking list.
We'll just sit tight and see what we have come that time

Dont know why everyones in such a rush to make lineups with people who may not even be here by then. 2 losing seasons in a row, changes are bound to be made

That's the word on the street but when they join the Canucks/Comets they should be close to ready

We are going to suck next year and maybe the year after but we will get high draft picks

ASL nailed it by saying we are 3 yrs away from being 3 yrs away.

Maybe not that long but at least 3 more years

I think that is completely fair. 3 more years away from MAYBE being competitive is realistic.

I am sure his 6'0 165 lbs will scare the hell out of all other goons

- VANTEL

I don't know what you've heard but he's got a NHL body and is actually 6'0.2 and 166lbs, plus I'm anticipating that he's got some wheels.
You really should research your stats better, unlike me. I'll just find a slight discrepancy in something to argue about it because right our wrong I'll get the final word and go to sleep happily in my being right.

I read that in Dobber prospects, but it also said Benning is hoping to get him signed and over to North America for next season.
Would be nice to have all of the prospects in NA next season learning the pro game under Canucks watchful eyes.

I think it would be great to have Dahlen over next year. Utica needs a complete overhaul.

If you missed the game:

Larssen is just as bad of a Forward, as he is a defensemen.

Miller FINALLY had a not so great game.

MARKSTROM ISNT GOING TO PLAY THIS YEAR.

Honestly, Markstrom needs to be bought out/trade (as if any team would want him) this summer. Literally the only reason people think this guy is a starter is because he was drafted in the 1st round like 10 years ago. Resign Miller to a good deal, or go out and pick up Halak or Bishop in free agency. Markstrom will never be a starter, are we really going to start paying him 3m a year? If markstrom is our starter going into next season, last nights game is just a taste of things to come.

Bachman's proven that he's a career goalie, stays in shape, always healthy, seems completely happy coming up for a short stint. This guy is a real solid goalie imo (obviously not a starter, but why can't he play 15-20?).

If it were me, I'd buyout Markstrom, extend Miller for a year, then go out and scoop up Bishop.

Miller
Bishop
Bachman
Demko

4 really solid american goalies, and a good succession plan for when Miller retires/Demko is ready to take over.

I could not be happier with what Bachman has done, but at the NHL level and what he has done for Demko. Demko has gone on to say that Bachman has been instrumental in his development, both on the ice, and being a pro off it.

Hopefully his neck heals , i like that guy But he's pretty much the same players as Markstrom. too good to be a backup, but not good enough to be a consistent 60 game starter. I think both will eventually end up in Europe.

I was speculating a while back if Markstrom trade will be explored this offseason. No reason he cant be a serviceable backup as his next contract cap hit isnt outrageous.

Given how bad the team will be, I'd be willing to take on someone like Howard, one of the Dallas guys, Smith, Luongo, etc to see if we can get something of value for taking a contract

He made terrible passes, panicked getting the puck out of the defensive zone, was getting pushed around in the offensive zone. I think its going to be growing pains from here until the end of the season as I don't see him being sent down while they are trying to evaluate him. Helps the tank though
- Codes1087

What are you talking about? Your statement can't be true because I saw many on here pencil him in as a second line winger to Bo Horvat. And that was after his very first NHL game with the canucks.

You have to be wrong.
