Wrong, he's an offensive defenseman but he's not great in his own end. All around defenseman as far as both ends I'd take ekman Larsson or Hedman both can score and shut a top guy down. Burns is also a better offensive defenseman than Karlsson

He will win the Norris this year for sure and deservedly so. Edit maybe not Burns will probe run away with it.

But he's a wussy compared to Doughty who's tough to play against. Also I think Doughty plays much better defensively( which to me is important especially for defensemen) and also is great offensively. Not to mention the hardware he has already won that Karlsson is dreaming of.

Yeah but Burns plays defense too. Karlsson isn't very good in his own end, sorry, and he's a wussy. You play against Karlsson its an easy night physically, you play against Doughty he's all over you physically tough to play against

I disagree about that one.

Aside from producing more points than most forwards in the league, he is easily the best at breaking the puck out of his own end...which I think it would be incredibly difficult to argue against being the most paramount thing that a defender can do. You can rough guys up and take the puck away all day long, if you can't clear it out of your own end (coughIslanderscough) then you didn't accomplish anything.
