He's undoubtedly the more-talented of the two, but I just don't think he does anything that separates him from the pack that would be justification for not trying to squeeze him for some value in a trade.

Strome has a lot of work to do, but I still like him over Nelson. Like you mentioned, Nelson brings back a better return.

Yeah, again, I'm not arguing that Strome is "better". Just that Nelson isn't exactly some sort of majorly-important asset to this team and that we might be better served trading him because he carries more value than Strome.
- eichiefs9

I wouldn't be against trading him either as long as the return makes sense. I'm not trusting Snow with this tough. We have seen him in action this summer.

But in return get me the Goal and point production Nelson gives but we don't need another bottom 6 forward that is tough, makes 3.5 Million per year and only scores 10 goals per year.

Stromes talented but his problem is in-between his ears and I don't think you can coach or beat that out of him.

I'd like to see every one of these players with new coaching and a different manager. It's the entire culture of the organization and its very possible it translates into their more often than not half arsed play. Get a new coach if he gets nothing from them trade them at the deadline. Bailey without a doubt should be traded over the summer. Maybe we can squeeze out a 2nd rounder from him if we're lucky.

I don't think Nelson is worth much, by himself, in a trade...but I do think he'd be a valuable addition to a package.

Not for nothing but everyone on this team should be up for a trade. No one here has made a case of staying here to win a cup. There I said it

As much as I have a problem with Nelson, I would not just give him away. I'm ok if he comes back and gets a shot with a new coach first. Bailey I would trade this offseason.

Bailey has got to go while he has any value at all. We won't get back much bit anything is ok.

I agree. Time to trade Bailey is now. No way can he be given a long term contract.

If we miss the playoffs (which we will) we need to trade this pick. This draft totally sucks and there is no reason to draft this year. WE have enough young players who we will not give a chance to in the NHL. I say we trade the pick along with a lets say a Nelson and other pieces and get some one in here. This is the move that needs to be made. Will it?? Nope cause if we are still dealing with GArth Snow it will never happen but we need to.
- kasperrko

The problem with this plan is that if Garth figured out it was a poopty draft then every other GM figured it out 6 months ago. The pick will be pretty value-less.

What Doug Weight said is exactly what I've said Snow has been doing for years. He would lure bush league journeymen to come here by promising top line minutes. This is why for years we scratched our heads, and asked how is Conacher, Kennedy, Bernier, or even a Brian Strait playing on a regular shift. Its because they phucking make these promises and nothing else matters.

"I’m not sure one guy, even on the power play, can make that sort of difference. We’ll have eight healthy D on Thurs. who all expect to be in the lineup and have earned the right." This quote right here is why the PP has not worked year after year. Its utterly amazing.

My question is, does he really believe this or is he just being a good soldier?

A weak draft year doesn't mean that there isn't value to be found. We may not end up with a franchise player, but by no means is a mid-first round pick a "throwaway" pick of any sort.

The 2008 1st round was almost entirely dog-shit after the first 2 picks but that Erik Karlsson guy taken at 15 seems to have carved out a nice career so far.

14 GM's passed on Karlsson, hard to get on one for it.

He is easily the best player in that draft though.

I'm not really sure what exactly that gif is but I've been waiting for an excuse to use it but realizing there isn't that many opportunities to call someone a slut from the 90's.
