Gotta remember that Brouwer is a RH shot which is more useful on the power play than you'd think. Especially when the other two forwards (monny and Johnny) are LH
- LittleBroDougie

Brouwer was a great! Pick up ,a playoff performer and a veteran for that room come playoff time

This x infinity.

I live abroad and get my sports news from Sportsnet rather than TSN. But even sports net is full of crap. I don't give 2 poops about the Jays or Raptors. Not sure why they try and shovel that poop down my throat.

What exactly are they supposed to cover if you don't want them talking about two of the major sports leagues in North America?

Really though, on the PP Brouwer and Ferland are pretty much equal. They have the same job (go to the net, get in the corners, get a screen and try and get a stick on a loose puck).

It's just kind of a slap in the face when you have your PP time taken by a player that you are clearly outperforming in every facet of the game. So, all things being equal, it isn't entirely unimaginable for the Flames to have an ulterior motive for playing Brouwer on the PP over Ferly.

Always new ferland had a higher level of hockey in him, again when I mentioned that they should play him on a top six role,it was met with laughter and ya what ever, but this guy is going to shine in the playoffs, imho he's going to be one of those players that elevate their game this time of year! Good luck guys with the rest of the season and hopefully a deep playoff run
- MR.Hunter

Actually, many of us were getting frustrated with GG for not putting on the Gaudreau/Monahan line way earlier. His usage is still questionable when it comes to PP time. Playoffs may change a few things with the stakes being higher. Good luck to the Leafs & I need Andersen back ASAP for my hockey pool!!!!

Perhaps it is a "She's All That" scenario where Gultzan accepted a bet entailing that he has one year to put an offensive "zero" onto the powerplay in order to prove.. I don't know what those popular kids were trying to prove. That she can't be hot?

- fry

She was pretty hot when I was in HS. Not feeling like looking, but I am going to hope/assume she aged gracefully.

Difference is that Brouwer is a fightback shot. I too would like to see Ferland get a shot on the PP but the shot side does matter, especially on the PP.

The answer is always Janko. And a shift.

Is it really though? (on that PP line in particular)

-They keep Johnny, Brodie, and Versteeg (Right S.) up high.
-Monahan is usually trying to find an opening in the slot/acting as a screen.
-Brouwer is basically the gopher when the puck goes to the corner.
-When the puck is cycling he is meant to cause poop in front of the net and either get a stick on a point shot, or shovel home the rebound.

On some powerplays having the extra right shot might make a big difference. But on this PP unit in particular I don't think Brouwer being right handed really gives him much of an advantage.

I'm not really that bothered by it. As long as we are getting results on the PP I don't care who's playing where

I would appreciate a little more coverage on the NHL teams not based out of Toronto. Why are there way more stories about the Jays and raptors than other NHL teams?

5 (frank)ing articles about the Jays/day in spring camp? 2 about the Flames/week?

Cover Curling, dog sledding, seal clubbing, I don't (frank)ing care about basketball. The average Canadian does not either. Kinda like hockey in the desert.

If you want to fight about this I now Karate and Karazy. And I am drunk enough to use them.

Your inner Canucks fan really came out in this one

What do you expect ? Catering to the largest audiences ...both are look at as Canada wide teams who have a shot at playing for championships

This is like going to an auto repair shop and complaining about the amount of time spent on engine repair compared and wanting them to spend more time on the coffee there

Good for them. They get pushed as Canada wide teams, much like the Leafs.

I find it hard to believe there are more Raptors fans than fans from NHL teams like Edmonton or Cal.

I had my female dog. I am over it.
