It's not about where you end up. It's about the journey to get there. And what a journey it was this year. - Mononoke
I just find it funny that so many wax poetic about the fringe forward prospects and the Flyers finally get a guy who looks like he could be a solid top 9 player, but losing him doesn't matter. |

That Corolla was all you man. - flyer_nutter
Hah! He picked that out... no lie and no arm twisting. I thought he was going to never talk to me again when we walked out of the dealership without it.
I found him the same car two counties over with no body damage and a yr younger, 25,000 less miles for $2,000 less. May have been my car buying apex.
Flatbed pulled out in front of him a month later. If he was a second earlier he would have went under it instead of smashing into the rear corner.
I would have bought him any car after that until he started looking at BMWs.
He's been in 4 major accidents in 4 years. Not a single one of them have been his fault. Two of them he was at a complete stop. |

You know what sucks about being a Flyers fan right now? When a guy like Brandon Manning gets into a fight and becomes a story. Pre Hextall era, we simple just faught. I guess this is the new Flyers. |

Didn't know this. I wonder why. I do think it's a stretch to call him anything more than respectable defensively in the traditional sense......but there's always a reason for this. Whatever line he has been on has done well, even when it wasn't doing well prior or after. It's intriguing, even if I don't expect this going forward to this extent. But we really have no real, usable data on Weal prior to this, so it's all learning.
He's intelligent obviously in reading plays, and the guy just works his ass off in both ends. You can just see how important every shift is. No slack in the d zone. He's moving, doing his best. Don't know the stats, but wouldn't surprise me to see him be exceptional at zone exits, low on turnovers. On his off wing yet, he's quite adept at getting it out with possession. And gaining the blue line with possession using clever passes. In the o-zone he's also adept at sustaining cycles, which has an impact in playing less d. - Mononoke

wait a minute. Why did Hak switch up Read and Konecny?
It must be all the structure G and Jake provide. |

Period.

It's only 17 games, but he's been great for them in those 17 games. I doubt any Flyers 4th liner has put together anything close to this 17 game stretch. |

Look at the Haley suspension.
It's a new league when they can call that a sucker punch and get everyone to parrot them. |

For all the talk about Simmonds being the only person who works hard yada yada.......Weal has a hunger no one else is matching IMO. Every shift it's do or die, doesn't matter if it's offensively or defensively, with the puck or without it, in space or along the boards just scrapping and clawing. He knows this is his NHL shot, and he won't be denied. It's been a treat. |

Sucks bout the accidents. Other than the girl I hit, the big one that cracked my windshield and walked away without a scratch I've been aight. Closer calls in the car than when I used to have the bike.

Yup, it's great to see. It's why I loved the Keenan teams, they all played like that. They were afraid not to. |
