I had to read The Grapes of Wrath, Their Eyes Were Watching God, Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, and The Great Gatsby all over the summer before 11th grade. All while doing SAT stuff and whatnot for other classes.
What I'm saying is, (frank) high school. It's the worst today. - Mononoke
Funny you say that.. Secondary English was my initial major in college. But after hearing my professors continuously rip the education system a new bumhole and tell us that actual learning wasn't taking place (Standardized testing), I soon lost interest and switched. |

American Gods. That was absolute trash. Apparently they are making it into a show. - flyer_nutter
Neil Gaiman's first shot at a long form novel. Love the guy but he got lost early in that book and the overall structure was a tough sell. I never finished it.
The concept is solid and might make for a great show. Might not. |

My son floundered in High School. As far as I'm concerned he shouldn't have graduated. They pushed him through.
He's killing it in community college now. Loves it. A year in and he's looking to transfer to a full time program and is excited about the whole thing. |

That's due to Hakstol's system. We should hope Hakstol would get the Pens job. Crosby would be a shell of his former self under Hakstol's debilitating, star killing hockey system. I read that on BSH. - MJL

I struggled in high school too. It can be debated if it was from a lack of interest on my part or professors being focused on memorization more than retention. college is when learning and classes became far more enjoyable because it pertained to what I wanted to learn. And the proof was in the gpa. I did a semester at Montco and my one professor was easily one of my favorite/best professors I had in college. |

Supposedly Vecchione is down to 4 teams (originally 8 were interested). Flyers, Lightning, Rangers, Red Wings. |

I took a look at 2017 FA Forwards over the weekend and was enticed by the possibility of adding a guy like Justin Williams or Patrick Sharp for a year or two. TJ Oshie would probably be to expensive, which is probably a good thing considering how some of those 5,6,7 year deals look.

I was (frank)ing all over the place dominating these boards on all things hockey, culture, and life related. It's worth back-reading those 10 pages. One of my better performances in a while. Doing my best to build a winning culture here, and I think you'd be proud. |

They're both bum teams. Some could argue the Sixers are the more entertaining watch right now, even without Embiid |

Me too.
For the record, I have neither a clue nor an opinion where Vecchione and Spencer Foo will sign.
I am however, infinitely amused by the reports from "sources" that continue to come out. I remember well, how accurate "sources" were last year when Jimmy Vesey was supposed to be a lead pipe lock to go to Boston.

There hasn't been nearly as much coverage/reports on Vecchione compared to Vesey, but Vesey did have the Nashville fallout drama. And his decision carried into the summer so it was something for writers to release in the offseason. He spent training camps with Boston, Minnesota, and Philly. Supposedly he almost signed with us last year but he wanted to finish at Union. But the only reports I've seen today are that he's close to making a decision, he was in NJ with his agent(s) making calls to teams, and that he's down to the four teams I listed previously. |
