Yeah, see my edit. I didn't realize there was a 5 year gap between Tobey and Garfield. It certainly didn't feel like it.

The Tobey Maguire Spider-Man 2 was good

The third one caused the reboot.

The Garfield both are trash

You think in this day and age with all the leaked footage on cell phones you would see some type of evidence which I would pay to see it be quite entertaining

Maybe he's just got a great publicist. But I mean he does talk about beer in every interview on WGR. Even the post-TDL presser he brought it up unbidden.

Rogue One wasn't great. I hated the score. And the uncanny valley was alive and well, but overall it was pretty solid, but people hate that movie with a capital "H".

Edit: I think my "D" key is going.

I don't know why they think we need a (frank)ing Spiderman movie every other year. This is what? The 7th movie in the last 15 years? 8th?

Edit: '02, '04, '07, '12, '14, '16(in Civil War), and now this (frank)ing one, plus the scheduled one in '19 and Avengers in '18. 9 goddamn movies with Spiderman in 17 years. That's a bit much.

I have 2 friends in "the business" (1writer, 1 producer) and they said when the comic book companies signed deals with the film companies, they stipulated that they had to make one movie a year for X number of years. So, they're already running out of interesting content. Therefore, the multiple "reboots." Basically, spend money on marketing to tell people how much they're going to love this one way better than the last one and then collect money.

I understand it's a contractual thing, what I don't understand is why they thought it was a good idea long-term. Sure you'll rake in the money for 4 or 5 movies, but people are going to get sick of it sooner or later. But they do keep making Fantastic Four movies, so who knows?
