3rd captain ago that would be messier. Wouldnt call him a beta-male at all. He was very tough and a leader. Alpha type. - SMBDragon

I had corrected the post but you beat me to it here.
It was from an internet list of captains.... luongo wasnt in it. I did recall after the post that luongo was prior to henrik. Why he wasnt in the list I have no idea of

Griffen Molino
Forward -- shoots L
Born Jan 21 1994 -- Trenton, MI
[23 yrs. ago]
Height 5.11 -- Weight 171 [180 cm/78 kg]
Canucks signed this late bloomer NCAA free agent. He was on the radar. Is a high risk high reward offensive inclined type player. Not sure if he's being brought in now with his ELC. But he's another left shooting smallish skilled forward.
Makes things interesting among those who they already got like him. Can we say that he's the death nell for the older Megna at least not seeing him back again for depth. If JB brings him in now to short handed Nucks for a look it might be an indicator if he can be good depth as a waiver exempt call up from the Comets next season. |

holy (frank) I really hope this beta-male things doesn't become a trend here. Who knew that your value as a captain was solely based on your masculinity which is further based on how hard you can hit and fight, as opposed to your on ice/off ice leadership qualities, or maybe point totals. |

I think a lot of us forget about that decision. One of the dumbest decisions in hockey (imo).

this isn't really that interesting. He will be fighting for a spot on the comets next year, but most likely ECHL. I wouldn't get too excited. |

you saw his play decline in the 2nd year with it....then get better without it. You have too much prep being goalie to be doing captain level news before / after each game. |

Team captain should really be an alpha dog... Beta dog can be co-captain. |

Luo that numbskull wanted to be captain, just like that clown never wanted to be pulled. the idiots in mgmt and AV shouldn't have given in to his stupid demands all the time. Pull that (frank)er when he let in a couple or three so so goals instead of leaving him hanging out to dry and don't give him the captaincy. |

Toews, Stamkos, Tavares, Zetterberg, McDavid, M. Koivu, Paccioretty, McDonaugh, Karlsson, Giroux, Crosby, Pavelski, Pietreangelo, Getzlaf.

Hold your bravado it's just a new signing. Like we have better things to rehash. So I take it you don't think they will bring him in now.
What's interesting is why and what are they looking to do with these types of players. I don't think JB is signing free agent young guys for the ECHL right now.
If they even have an ECHL team affiliation next season. I could see some existing Comets under contract that ceilings are known moved down to make room for the new guys. |

Agreed.
It's about as spurious as the nationality argument.
Alpha Canadians for captain. |

this beta-led team with the no-push culture coach in the soft logo uniforms had the most successful stretch this franchise has ever seen. But yeah, terrible job by them |

I don't think it matters if your captain can fight but they should be able to stand up for themselves. Nothing wrong with wanting a player that can provide some physicality in your leadership group. |

not at all.
But my point had nothing to do with the Sedins. My point is that you don't need a guy who is going to throw hits and fight in order to be a good captain. |
