So many soft forwards on the team. - manvanfan
Hope JB adds more size with talent and aggression in this draft. There is a lack of bangers with talent for sure on the team. Maybe then it makes having JV and BB who's no slouch more important now. Though, you can call Granlund and the stocky Boucher as feisty. Like Nighthawk said hope the others bring high end skill that lead to scoring. |

MACKENZIE ENTWISTLE is getting a favourable ranking of 35 in NA. 25 points in 54 games in most drafts you would be found closer to 70ish. - manvanfan
Not surprising. Big and can skate and has a July bday |

I hope JV learns to read and picks up a few books over the summer... decides to exercise his brain.
I think this guy does nothing useful over the summer and is a wasted pick... Aquaman was an idiot for pushing this guy... They must have interviewed him and realized he's clueless, doesn't think the game, has no inquisitiveness about learning systems, etc... how they still drafted him has to be on Aquaman.
I write this after reading that article... there was a quote that things were tough for JV in Utica for large stretches and I think that goes back to him not using his mind or being able to use his mind to understand things...
There was another quote about him not knowing how much harder he can work when Kuzma wrote about the team trying to get his fitness up and how he's like a horse... He can put in more work than he realizes... sounded like he was taking it easy.
Don't want to be overly critical, but reading that article only reinforced negatives about him... |

He's no genius or innovator. Not sure if many hockey players out of junior are scholarly either. Don't think he's going to be any different. But he may learn enough from coaching to develop a good enough hockey IQ to utilize his physical talents.
JV can make himself into an effective and elite NHL power forward or top 9 capable at the very least. The right tutelage and coaching helps. His past set back shouldn't be overly applied to negate or reinforce a notion he won't succeed. |

He did play in the top prospects game. The production of a guy who is a big body usually higher because he can outmuscle others. I was high on him earlier in the season. If Van could get him with CLB second or Van's Third i'd be happy. |

Boucher is short, Listed an inch smaller then Goldy. I'd probably put Boucher at 5'9" because he was real close to the same size at Nic Petan. |

Nice take. We'll have a better idea end of season what's available where they pick. Also, lotto drop draft order could spark deals. Can speculate better all the potential picks around where everyone is drafting after all that.
JB may make some trades to add picks pre and post expansion draft dealing. It will intensify with more entry draft dealings as well. Will be a busy off season to say the least. Hold on for the ride. |

I'm a bit shocked. I read the entire article so I could forget I was doing cardio. I was happy after that he wasn't going to just roll over and give up. |

He hasn't been very impressive stats wise. He may be a good skater but hasn't been much for offense. Been keeping an eye on him most of the season and can't say I am that impressed. Although I have only watched him twice & 1 of those times was from last season. |

Players that teams lose to Vegas will be looking to recoup. The Rangers have signed I think 4 College free agents now. They will be looking to dump a bit of salary i'm sure. |

So was I with how much work had to be put in with him and he still didn't get it right away. That's disappointing and frustrating as a fan since we could have drafted a guy with a better work ethic and smarts. |

He seemed to have a more mature game but production still a bit of a worry. |

Being a bruiser and smarts aren't normally two things that hand in hand. |

Jake Oettinger at 15. That was higher then Demko ranked a couple years ago. - manvanfan
Mason Raymond's best asset remains his speed. He’s great in open ice. He’s got the agility to side-step checks to get through the neutral zone, and his speed keeps opposing defensemen off-balance and forces them to be conservative with their gaps, allowing him to gain easy zone entry. Even though he gained the zone quite easily on most rushes, he sometimes struggled to set up possession once inside the zone. |
