Seabrook needs to take a seat. The whole defence needs to go back to how to defend the net. Pretty basic stuff.

Question with a question
Need an honest answer

How many games would you start Darling in Round 1?

- Colbyboy

None because Crawford is better. But Darling isn't the problem right now. The problem is the team being mentally soft and how that might kill them come playoff time.

Hammer, Hossa also playing like crap. Nick does know it's ok to reverse the puck doesn't he? Every single play he flings it up the strong board right into a player wearing blue (if we're lucky in that he doesn't get a DOG).

The PK is a joke and what was that last PP the Hawks had. Literally NEVER got it into the zone one time. Brutal hockey all the way around.

Told you...and it will only get worse.
- DarthKane

No sarcasm from me this time. I'm actually very concerned about what i just watched. Looks like a team that isn't as mentally tough as they need to be to win a championship.

20 minutes to a point.
- ArlingtonRob

They won't get that far, no points tonight. A last minute goal for TB will seal the deal.

How many times do the Hawks d-men ring the puck up the boards only to have it received by an opposing player. Isn't there supposed to be a Hawk forward there but the only player there to get the puck is an opposing player. This isn't new tonight and it happens to all teams but the Hawks have to be the worst team in the league in getting the puck out along the boards. Either figure it out or stop doing that. Turnover after turnover tonight.

Seems like the Hawks were skating well in the 1st period and now they're getting blitzed like they have tired legs.

Hossa has been HORRIBLE

The entire team is in shock and responding like a bunch of scared, fragile little girls to this adversity.

VERY worrisome IMO

I don't care if he prefers his off side, Hammer is garbage completing a pass or getting out of the zone on his backhand.

I'm calling 7-4 with 2 empty net goals by Kucherov.

It's disturbing that the Blackhawks do this time in and time out vs teams that are not in the playoffs, what this tells me is the Hawks dismiss these teams and expect to win by just showing up physically, all I have to say is how disrespectful that their egos are this big having no honor for their non playoff opponents. I guess they are considered an experienced team, to me more like a team full of big egos

Same crap from the start of the season. Don't hit anyone.....not sure why; clown shoes in our own end; D throws the puck around the boards and misses the winger. When that doesn't work, flip the puck out and let the oposition mount another attack.

Anyone think maybe the defense stopped working so hard because the goalies were making them look good? Our defense is no longer the vaunted defense of yesteryear. Teams know they can skate with ease around our net.

This has been my concern for just about the entire season, and it's been more noticable since the all-star break.

This team has been horrible at turning the puck over due to a failed clear by firing the puck around the boards only to have it be a turnover. Until the team can consistently clear the puck and both the super-PAK line and the bottom-4 d-men can get the puck out out their own zone, it'll be the demise of this team.

Exactly. When he took that DOG penalty he had plenty of time to move it back to the other D or move the puck back to his forehand

It scares me how mentally fragile this Hawks team is.

Only explanation for such a drastic shift in momentum during a game if you ask me.

They're rattled. And i don't think this would have happened to any of our championship teams of previous years.

Like i said, win or lose this is a VERY bad sign for our playoff run. Lose, its our worst loss of the season. Win, and at least we've spared ourselves some embarrassment. But not all.

- SimpleJack

Except for the first TB PP, the Hawks pretty much controlled the first 30 minutes - it all fell apart in the last 10 - not Darling's fault tonite, not Crawford's last nite - but 10 goals against in the last 4 periods - goalies have to share the blame with forwards who have too many TOs and defense men who can't clear the puck (except directly into the stands for the DOG).

This is not a fragile team - this is a struggling team right now - get Anisimov back, settle on the lines, have 50/33 focus a little more....

I'm afraid that what we just saw is a reflection of something far worse, and far more worrisome for our Cup chances, then simply taking the foot off the gas and underestimating an opponent.

I think we're seeing a team that doesn't know how to respond to adversity like true champions do.

We've been riding high and front running for months now.

This is our first taste of real adversity since January, and we clearly look rattled.

Maybe all the youth is finally catching up to us.

But either way, this scares me. I don't like this at all, and if we don't respond in the 3rd period properly I'm going to have to seriously question my faith in our Cup chances.

Yes because that's all you've done for years. I'm an even blend of both positive and negative. Actually most would probably say I'm more positive. But this is not a time to be positive. So have at it.
