Well its definitely fair because nobody is perfect. Q is not mistake free, despite being by far and away the best coach in the league and a future HOFer. And when he does make what i think are mistakes, I'll female dog about it. Especially if I'm bored and have nothing better to do - SimpleJack
Hey man I complained about Q and his lineup decisions for years. This year's infusion of youth I can't bring myself to question him. But I'm not here to say you can't do it or shouldnt voice your opinion. Just my $0.02 coming from a guy who used to question Q often. I think this benching will be better for Hartman and the Hawks in the long run, even if it does result in them sending out an inferior lineup....
Full disclosure, my dog is named Q after The Stache! |

Hartman>>Kruger
Neither should be benched, but still....
Benching someone for having a bad game after they've been playing so well for so long is just stupid. Especially when the entire team played like crap and lost 7-0. If i were Hartman I'd be pissed off. - SimpleJack
If you recall Hossa hit the pines a few years back when he was struggling. Frankly it should happen more. Soupy this year snapping a streak an rightfully so. |

You want to talk about message sending.....spot on buddy. Campbell had a 500+ consecutive games played streak and Q healthy scratched him as a message.....now that's what you call the "Wrath of the Stache" |

Spot on here Sage...this is for everyone to see. Hartman will reel it back in and be back on the ice in Pitt. - DK002
Hey, DK -- sorry to hear about your family's loss. Hope the game gives you a break from that stuff and you can bring home a Blackhawk winner!
I feel the boys will get their act together after getting embarrassed on Saturday.

I honestly don't get the obsessing over the dumb penalties. You want a legit top 9 NHL forward capable of scoring 20 goals during a season in which he gets very little top 6 or PP minutes playing in the AHL because he committed a few dumb penalties? What about all the great plays he's made this season? They all get canceled out and don't matter anymore?
News flash: Dumb penalties aren't the only way to negatively impact your team. And there are multiple other forwards that negatively impact the team on a nightly basis more frequently than Hartman. So why aren't they going to the Red Roof Inn? Why Hartman? - SimpleJack
Daddy's giving young Ryan a little spanking and something to think about. (Son, I don't like what you did there). It's a message, that's all. And the kid will learn something from it (hopefully) and be the butt of some jokes from his teammates for awhile. |

While I agree completely with Q's message sending to Hartman, I'd have liked it to stay consistent and for him to sit down Kruger, as well. 16 also got an unsportsmanlike penalty.....he's not a rookie, but still. With the Hawks' PK as shaky as it has been for the majority of the season, those penalties will cost the Hawks come Round 1. |

My dad kicked me in the ass regularly and let my brother get away with all kinds of stuff until my mother complained of unfair treatment. So then he beat the crap out of both of us to make it even.
Kruger has skins on Q's wall from previous wars, Hartman doesn't. That's the facts. |

I agree. Hopefully 8 can have a rebound game back with 19+14 after a few mediocre outings since 15's injury. |

Guess he can't bench the rest of the clowns for their performance on Saturday.
Though, it does look like he's singling one player as the blame for that mess. |

What? When I say veteran FA's I don't mean guys like Brad Richards who sign here on one year deals at the end of their careers. I'm talking about free agents that are considered prime targets. That would be more concerning than a 20-year-old kid coming off a good NCAA season spurning us to get immediate third/fourth line minutes with a different team. - TommyHawk
So, when you are a team up against the cap every year - like the Hawks - how are you supposed to sign these "prime targets"?? Do you honestly think a young player is going to give them a discount to play here??
I mean seriously........ |

Who bought playoff tickets today? Taking my little brother to game 5 of the second round. Did the same last year and got stained...hopefully that wont be an issue this year!
I bought standing room because of the cheaper price and I honestly would rather stand the whole game as I'm 6'5 and HATE the leg room in the UC. I think SRO is the move because if you get there early enough you can grab spot at one of the bars! What do you guys think???
Also, anybody know when Blues/Preds tickets will go on sale? I cant find anything on the net. Went to the sh*tty Scott Trade last year for Kaner's OT winner. What a wild night!
We're 16 days away from PLAYOFF HOCKEY baby!!! |

This is what I'm saying. Play your best players with 1st place and home ice on the line for a tough road game against a good team.
Once the important things are taken care of and 1st is wrapped up, THEN you can shuffle the lines and bench whoever you want.
Right now, given our position and situation, this isn't the right time to prioritize sending messages ahead of icing the best lineup possible. |

Me, too! I have heard that in SRO, once you stake out your spot you cannot leave it (or at least you have to leave your companion in place). Got tix for the following.
Round 1, Game 7
Round 2, Game 2
Round 2, Game 5
Was at Game 6 last year, and felt like I'd thrown away money, no matter how exciting it was, after they lost. Apparently, I am doubling down this year. |

Agreed....Kruger should be sitting as well. Q sending mixed messages on
disciplin again......but he knows best......after all, he's won 3 Cups
don't forget !!!!

one more stride and Seabrook is out of the zone ... but no, he airmails it into the stands and our terrible PK gives up the tying goal in 7 seconds |
