Good thought process but . . .
You may be over-indexing on rookies/youngsters and while I agree with Panik's value, as an RFA, he doesn't have that much leverage. You may be a tad high on where he ends up salary wise (like 10%) (or not high).
Also, I STRONGLY doubt Jeff Glass is the Hawks' primary backup next season to Corey Crawford.
The final roster may hold at least one significant surprise (to some). - John Jaeckel
Is the big Swedish tendy StanBo signed over the summer a potential NHL backup next year? |

I like it. Depending on the match up, Kero deserves a crack at line 2. He's been a good soldier. Short leash though.

He also had a couple of penalties in the previous game - against Dallas - a fighting major and a minor.
Didn't he have a rep in the A for taking bad penalties? - StLBravesFan
Yes, part of the reason for the constant comparisons to Shaw |

Of course while those players may be under NHL contracts, whatever their pay rate not all will skate nhl simultaneouslyl. Too many prospects need regular TOI playing time. The transition to pro game means learning some things in AHL but also figuring out other things at NHL. It is a good omen to have the pipeline churning out prospects
I am fairly certain DeBrincat and Fortin would not start together at the nhl level. Snuggerud despite those tapes and brief AHL indoctrination surely has AHL ticket to begin next season. We can better evaluate after expansion and probably after the summer. I would not be surprised to see a veteran brought in pending the loss in expansion allocation. I wonder if Baun is close to competing for an energy or bottom line job. Glass good enough for NHL? Or Johansson the swedish netminder at Rockford this season? Lastly, if KRUGER is selected despite his salary his return is fathomable. You win championships with Kruger and Shaw type. Their value goes beyond statistical analysis because our third and fourth lines are just better than everyone else. |

I would have to agree that DeBrincat and Fortin are most likely starting in Rockford next season and that any current Hogs to be on next year's Hawks roster are likely Hinostroza, Motte, and/or Baun (as far as forwards go). Baun seems to have picked up the pace since coming back from a long injury stint. |

Hartman was doing so good all season with moving from being Shaw Lite to arguably better than Shaw. The true test now is will Hartman be a solid playoff contributor as Shaw was. Shaw was an absolute beast. |

Agree JJ, but I think if the Hawks make a deep run Panik probably has a decent amount to do with it which could push his salary up...can't say I will complain if he goes Bickell 2013, hawks win it all and then have a tough decision to make with him |

Last I checked, Reilly, Caggiula, and Vesey were all playing like crap. Vesey and Hino actually had identical numbers prior to Vinny being sent down. I'd be more worried about Stan losing out on actual proven veteran free agents rather than overachieving NCAA ones. |

The players noted probably have higher potential ceilings than a free agent vet that Bowman could sign for dollars similar to entry level.
It's a bit concerning, but (a) the Rangers can point to a very recent history (Vesey, Hayes) of immediately giving college FAs a season-long starting position and (b) the Hawks might be viewed as having young player bottlenecks at various positions. |

What? When I say veteran FA's I don't mean guys like Brad Richards who sign here on one year deals at the end of their careers. I'm talking about free agents that are considered prime targets. That would be more concerning than a 20-year-old kid coming off a good NCAA season spurning us to get immediate third/fourth line minutes with a different team. |

Sigh...what other options? He's one of our best "power forwards". Not sure why Hayden gets to hangout on the 4th line. He's not going to do much there. |

I don't think he's done anything to warrant a look at 2C. Been a good foot soldier? He's a rookie. I don't understand all the love. He play some solid D and has shown some flashes of offense. On the flip side it puts as Schmaltz back were he has shown he can produce. He will have more room to play make and less D responsibilities with Toews and Panik. |

I'm more concerned with the Hawks signing their NCAA draft picks...
...NOT undrafted free agents clinging to a dream.
Iacopelli is another guy on the list. Glad to see it if true. |

Q strikes again with the stupid line combos. Kero at 2C? Hayden restricted to the 4th line? Hartman benched in favor of inferior players?
5-1 Lightning win
Looks like a slump is in the making. Too much shuffling with the lines. No chemistry/rhythm. |

Not sure why Q doesn't just do this:
Hayden-Toews-Panik
Panarin-Schmaltz-Kane
Hartman-Kero-Hossa
Desjardins-Kruger-Tootoo/Moose/Jurco |
