Marner's a C?
- Wetbandit1

he's played RW for them all year. He's a C the same way reinhart would be

I get the feeling that Ullmark is the player Murray is calling in his "favor" with McPhee for. There's nobody else that they would need to leave unprotected and really be upset about losing that I can see. They have to leave him out there because they don't have another goalie that fits the criteria.
- HonkFortheGoose

They could sign Nilsson, of course he'd have to go along, specifically for that purpose too though of leaving him unprotected as a means of protecting Ullmark. Who would you take? Nilsson or Ullmark? I'd take Nilsson. They do have options. Vegas is going to end up with a big time goalie. Bishop or Fleury probably. They're going to be in the market for a backup and one for the A. I'd rather have Nilsson as my NHL backup over Ullmark for my AHL team. But I haven't exactly looked in depth at all the other teams and who they'll protect.

Plus, if we leave Ennis unprotected do they take him to get their cap up for 2 years while still getting a player with the potential for 20 goals? I know the last 2 years haven't been good for him, but he has been injured pretty much the whole time, and it takes a while to get back in the groove. It took Kane most of last season to get up to speed after his shoulder surgery.

Well, but he is a natural center. Okposo is a winger. That's kind of what I was going for. I'd still call Reinhart a center.

Just for discussions here since it's pretty slow in here my first reaction was like yours hell no.

Thinking about it more Marner and Nylander for Eichel isn't a complete no.

Both Marner and Nylander are going to be very very good for a long time.

But I still wouldn't trade Eichel.

Yeah, that's an instance where the whole(Eichel) is worth way more than the sum of its parts(Marner and Nylander) That's a trade NHL17 would let you do. Hell, I did Reinhart for Laine. The total "value" is there, but you won't replace what Eichel brings with those 2.

Right but im guessing one of the reason leafs fans would say no/sabres fans would say yes is because marner is scoring at an amazing rate.

It's not unreasonable to think if you moved Marner back to centre, he would not be scoring as easily as he has this season.

Why would Sabres fans say yes? I just point to Saturday's game as to why Eichel is worth more than both of those guys.

Again, I see no reasons to say yes to that. Marner is very good, might even be great. Nylander is much the same. But, no way in hell am I trading Eichel and what he does for those 2. Just never happen. Let me put it another way, would Pittsburgh trade Crosby and Malkin for ROR, Okposo, Kane and Moulson? Our guys have more points than theirs this year. It's not just about getting production.

Damnit, I deleted the first one on accident.

This gets one game, while Risto gets 3.

I'd trade Eichel for McDavid. That's about it

But I don't think everyone realizes how good Mitch Marner is going to be.

He plays defense.....with all that skill

Does anyone include both sabres fans and leafs fans? Im confused. As a sabres fan i would think about it... As a leafs fan i would most certainly say no.

Edit: ive never smoked crack for the record.

This team has such a bi-polar mixture of certain attributes

Ryan O'Reilly, Sam Reinhart, Risto rarely if ever take penalties.

Kane, Foligno, Bogo, Gorges can't help but take them

I've seen him make a few nifty plays defensively. Mainly pick-pocketing players

It's you're not your

Also nobody knows with goalies.

And even if he is a good goalie no goalie is the future of a franchise anymore.

Eichel is the current and future of this franchise.
