Fitting that on T-Peg's birthday, the Raiders move to Vegas. For the amount of crap they get for the Sabres and Bills, people forget that the Bills would be in Toronto, LA or Vegas is not for them.

My take on it:

Leaf home tickets are crazy expensive.

Leaf games in Buffalo are still a great deal for most Leaf fans.

Leaf Sabres games in Buffalo as it was when the Sabres were good were usually 30-35% Leaf fans anyway.

When the Sabres are bad I don't really care if people sell their tickets.

And like you said playoffs are a totally different thing.

But you would think the Leaf fans would get tired of watching the Sabres beat the Leafs in Buffalo. Aren't they like 17-3-2 or something the last 22 games in Buffalo against the Leafs?

- Stripes77

Close on the record they're worse 18-2-1 over the last 22

It drives home how out of control the whole NFL is when three franchises move in 14 months. Chargers were one of the oldest AFL teams and the raiders have a good fan base. Greed is the only reason for this garbage. Nobody in LA was clamoring for 2 NFL franchises. It's just dumb

It's an absolute no-brainer for me. Sell the tickets if you want.

Ticket sales are becoming such a scammers market.

For anyone that attempted to buy tickets for Tool in Rochester two weeks ago, you might know what I mean.

Trying to get tickets for anything now is absurd. There's a lot of musicians that are starting to push back though. Eric Church somehow figures out which tickets are being purchased by scalpers/ticket brokers and cancels their orders so that fans can actually buy tickets at a cost that isn't astronomical.

Tickets for Tool were advertised as being between $54-$89. When everyone went to buy them at 10am last Friday, they quadrupled in price.

A buddy of mine who had off was going to order 8 of them for a group of us, ended up not buying them for obvious reasons, and they were sold out after an hour.

It was incredibly frustrating

...and I don't even care about the band

Which is part of the reason I love the music I listen to... It's easy af to get tickets and the cost is low to see the best in the world. Also, it's very easy to get the front without being gang raped. Plus no seating and it's all dance floor.
Long live Electronic music.

I know someone who just paid over $800 (total) for 2 floor seats in row 7 to Ed Sheeran in July. I'm sorry, but that's crazy. Unfortunately, it's the people who are willing to do that that continue to drive the cost up. If people stopped buying things on the secondary market for that much more than the actual cost, there would be no reason for people to try and sell them on the secondary market just to make a profit.

I live in Oakland. there's absolutely no reason for the Raiders or A's to move besides greed.
This place is booming right now. Huge influx of money. The Bay Area has become Manhattan/Brooklyn West.
Both franchises have no where to look but up when it comes to selling tickets but they still want to move.

Agreed, problem is brokers/companies purchasing them.

I don't get how it's legal for tickets to be sold at quadruple the price they are advertised, before the events are even sold out. I'm totally confused.

Is that guy a Leaf fan?

Because selling tickets to Leaf fans is perfectly reasonable no matter the price.

What we have learned, borderline check, no no.

i'm all for having a secondary market, especially for sports events like hockey/basketball/baseball where there's so many games per year. But I agree with you that there should be some sort of cap in terms of how much people can change for them.

Chargers are just going home. They were the LA Chargers for their first season in the AFL.

I'm being facetious. But it is a fact that the Chargers were first the LA Chargers before San Diego.

The problem is people are willing to pay those prices, if they weren't, they would be sold for less. Low supply + high demand = high prices. Or I guess I should say finite supply.

Edit: Late.

Interesting discussion.
