Some days are better than others. It all still feels very surreal at the moment.

To be fair Cal has played like 80 something games straight and has posted insane numbers.

Not just a 23 game stretch.

That being said its college and pro hockey is much different

even Mr. Softee took a while to adjust.. not many goalies can make that leap and be good right away. has there been a goalie since like 90s that has been able to do that?

Bailey Reinhart and Baptiste

That could be a helluva 3rd line.

And cheaper the three of them combined would make less than Vanek!

- Stripes77

That also allows for Nylander to take another year of development in the AHL without feeling the need to rush him.

Even if they didn't stink, it would be hard to argue with someone who may be able to pay for a large portion of the entirety of their season tickets by just selling the Leafs tickets to their fans.

It's funny that this discussion just got brought up because the friend I've had season tickets with for 7 years just sent me this:

Broken link Goose, but on the topic, it seems like a good business decision for any Sabres fan to sell their Leafs tickets if it helps them pay for their seasons.

I even understand selling one playoff game in a series if it meant that would help pay for the others.

The players may not like it, and many fans may not like it, but not many of us are rich enough where the money doesn't matter.

My take on it:

Leaf home tickets are crazy expensive.

Leaf games in Buffalo are still a great deal for most Leaf fans.

Leaf Sabres games in Buffalo as it was when the Sabres were good were usually 30-35% Leaf fans anyway.

When the Sabres are bad I don't really care if people sell their tickets.

And like you said playoffs are a totally different thing.

But you would think the Leaf fans would get tired of watching the Sabres beat the Leafs in Buffalo. Aren't they like 17-3-2 or something the last 22 games in Buffalo against the Leafs?

i have no idea why, but the site is changing the URL no matter how I post it. If you go to google and search Dave Davis Sabres Fans Unfairly Criticized it'll come up.

This site makes no sense sometimes.

The cost of tickets here have more than doubled in some areas of the arena. I don't have the cheapest ones, but in the 10 seasons that we've had our seats, they've doubled. When my friend first got them, it was a group of 5 people splitting the cost equally, which was about $300 a person. For that same split now (which is how we divided them up this year) it was $620. And the quality of the overall product is worse now than it was then.

The actual arena experience also leaves a lot to be desired. Plus with the change of scheduling requests the team has now compared to years ago when it was Golisano has also caused issues. I'm sorry, but I really don't enjoy trucking myself down to the arena on Tuesday and Thursday nights for like 70% of the games of the year. There's barely any Friday night home games anymore and then the Saturday/Sunday afternoon games cause issues at times for trying to get anything else accomplished over the weekend.

say you had 2 season tickets, average seats, not great

wanted to take your son to all the games

parking, drinks, food etc

I bet you would spend close 10 grand

in many ways, the cost forces people to sell tickets to the fans of leafs, habs etc

I still enjoy going to games, but not the amount that I've been going to the last 8 years or so.

We're giving up our seasons after this year. Between the cost increases and other commitments now compared to when we got them, it's just not really doable anymore.

I know plenty of people keeping theirs, so I'll just buy a few games off of them next year. The 16+ per year I've had for 8 years is just too many now.

I bought a ten pack for a pair of seats from Fattony on this site last season. 300 level seats, right inside the shoot 2x blue line, pretty high but very nice. The tix were like $700 for my choice of ten games.

I live in ROC, so to get to the game I had to leave long before dinner.

So for me to take my kid to a game: $70 for tix, $50 or $60 for food and beer, $15 parking; half a tank of gas, and another $5 in tolls.

So, It's $150 a game.

I got $350 on Stubhub for a pair of draft tickets I paid $50 for. At 7x the profit, I'll sell my tickets all day long.

I'm not certain if there is any other arena that is worse. I don't know what fixes it either. I doubt just winning changes it.

I think it would help, but overall, it's a problem.

I think a big part of it is the fans overall though to be quite honest. My friend and I had someone complain to one of the ushers last season because we were having a conversation. Apparently you're supposed to sit there with your mouth shut the whole time.
