Especially in winter, when you just want to run outside and throw something all on the grill and run back in. Who wants to be dealing with tanks in the winter (besides fans of bad NHL teams I mean)?
- Aetherial

Just remember to turn it off. Had a work buddy that left his on from Thanksgiving to first snowfall.

Natral gas would get trapped if there everwas a leak and the cover also traps moisture eventually ruing the burners.
Propane pools so if there ever was a leak it falls out the bottom.

- the_eye

That's why I use propane.

Not really...just didnt want to fork over for a gas line.

I was in a doctor's office about 10 years ago, and there was an article in a magazine called Cottage Life (or some poop similar) that basically said that you should never clean your grill after you use it - the grease will protect it.

The time to clean your grill is when you fire it up again.

I'm lazy as frank, so I just accepted it as fact, and never, ever bothered to look at additional sources to see if it was true or not.

- Atomic Wedgie

Isn't this standard practice?

or maybe it's bc i'm as lazy as you that i do this in the exact same way

Not sure if it makes a difference but I've seen a few over the years that are solid covers along the top but are mesh along the back where the BBQ is open. This no-cover thing was news to me too.
- markmark

that's what I have, 70% of the back is mesh, it's the napoleon cover

I grill in the winter all the time with propane...no issue.

Just make sure the tank is full before the winter comes.

Dont use a cheap cover.
- Fakepartofme

Lot of commentary out there that any cover that holds in humidity is bad.

I guess for me, it is a pain in the ass to have one and without one, my grill is holding up just fine, so why bother.

It's true on cheap bbq's that have steel grates, the good ones are porcelain and never rust.

Sorry bud, no clue what you are talking about.
I, like most had Bernier over Reimer simply cause he was better the first two years..then he imploded.
But I wasn't a fan of either.
So, thanks for coming out.

Thankfully, we have Andersen.....he's looking pretty good.

You won't regret getting a gas line, which I think will pay for itself anyway.

Should be an interesting season. looking forward to it. Going to a game the 2nd week of April with my kids.
Their pitching should be good, we"ll miss the parrot, but I think Morales should be able to get 30 HR's this year.
Left field is still an issue, same with 1st.
