I am baffled as to why everyone thinks Ullmark to Vegas is a lock? There's going to be like 30+ other goalies for them to choose from and for some reason Ullmark is their guy?

Am I missing something? Hasn't he had a poope season in the AHL, too?

Can't tank for Dahlin. Someone is going to break Crosby in half during these playoffs, then Pittsburgh is going to cry to Bettman that if he doesn't hand them the #1 pick next draft, they'll leave. So, fate is already sealed on handing Pittsburgh their next superstar player.

It will go to Carolina.. er.. I mean Quebec.

Murray and every single Canadian mainstream hockey insider type guy have said this expansion draft will make things a lot more exciting for teams trading away players in order to not lose them for nothing. No reason we can't be one of the ones benefiting.
- bluengold12

Weren't there high expectations around the compliance buyouts too, and posturing to take on teams' bad contracts and buy them out in exchange for an extra kickback? That never happened, just like this trade deadline was basically a flop league wide despite "pressure" from the upcoming draft.

I'm completely boggled by the idea one team would ever do a favor for another, at least in terms of personnel.
- Der Kaiser

I'm actually amazed he would say that in an interview.

He sounds like a complete ass.

I have not used it in a while

I threw the grenade at you to stir things up

I have already gone on the record saying I have no problem with lehner this season and would give him 3 years at 4.5 per this summer

- homiedclown

I am a big Lehner guy and Ineould give him $4.5.

I'd go 4 at 3.5 though.

We could be, but the availability of these guys is going generate interest from more than just us. top 4 d-man will cost you in most scenarios.

The deflection happens with sufficient time to stop...meanwhile they are in slow mo and it's literally only a couple of frames difference between the deflection and impact.

I played the capfriendly expansion game and there were sooo many good young goalies available that Ullmark wasn't a thought.

Of course, on there Murray was available, so that was a no brainer. :D

That's where you're wrong. The trade deadline was slow because teams are waiting till end of the season when they aren't competing for the playoffs to trade away good players. I guarantee this will result in a lot of trades and agreements.

Fun fact: There's only 1 (one) team undefeated in shootouts this season and it's Detroit. They're 8-0 and second to last in their conference. How very odd.

Good any asset and draft pick except Eichel, Reinhart, Nylander, Guhle and Pu are at the NHL's disposal.

so essentially nothing valuable, see the dilemma?

And yes i know kane is scoring goals now but it sounds like his value will never really be equal to those who score 25-30 a year.

Right? Everyone on here for MONTHS now is like "Oh no, Vegas WILL take Ullmark".

So what? Buffalo has always been a place where goaltenders flourish (except Bob Essensa and Patrick Lalime but.... they were Bob Essensa and Patrick Lalime). Nilsson by far has had his best pro season up here, Neuvirth, Halak, Biron, poop man even Steve Shields played lights out from time to time when he was here.

Not true. Read it from a legit Buffalo Sports news guy. Can't remember who. Carrier has to play a certain number of games 3rd year pro or not.

I'm not saying he's just going to take Jason Kasdorf because he owes Murray. But Murray did him a favor and Murray all ready told McPhee he's cashing in his in return. That's how the NHL works. We have a few players who can come to vegas right away and have NHL experience. Moulson, Gorges, Ennis, Bad gosian. They will all be available for Vegas to take and my sense is they will take one.

Kane, Bailey, Baptiste, future 1st and 2nd round picks, Asplund, Fitzgerald, Fasching, Foligno. All of those are solid assets.

The problem with Moulson, Bogosian and Gorges is that you are handcuffing your team. You can even make that argument for Ennis. Las Vegas isn't going to take on mega contracts, not from the expansion draft anyway.

No Ullmark was our only AHL All star other than Schneider. Rochester is a bad team, he's the only thing that keeps them in games most nights.
