He played most of his year in the B league of Swedish hockey. And had a losing record in doing so.

Considering he has no plan in place at goalie or defense except Guhle you might not be far off if Murray doesn't pull a 180 with this team by next year

What do you mean when you say "he has no plan"

The Swede plays in a B league not comparable.
- bluengold12

and when he got moved up

he had a 2.00 gaa and .920 save % playing for Brynas, better than their 2 other goalies

nice try though

He has nothing in the system or roster as a plan for the immediate future of this team at goalie or defense

Lehner is an RFA, so if Murray commits to him and gives him a five year deal, wouldn't that really put the nail in the coffin when it comes to Petersen signing with us? Why would he sign with a team that just sent a message that Lehner is our guy and you are years away from a legit shot at taking over the #1 spot with us?

not sure if thats true. his save % is meh while his GAA is very good, usually an indicator of playing behind a really good defence.

Thinking it will be Ennis or Gorges who get drafted. Maybe Deslauries. McPhee owes Murray. Not enough to take on Badgosian or Moulson but still

yeah, played with a better team and put up better numbers

90 percent of what a goalie's stat is determined by the team in front of him

doesn't matter if your price, rask, lehner, or mike smith

it's great to look at a stat and say he has bad stats and blame it on him

then when you do a little research on Almtuna you find out how the 18 skaters are in front of the goalie

and their d is brutal

100% Petersen will be signed well before Lehner who as an RFA won't be signed till very late summer.

You don't think the immediate (and foreseeable) future of the team is set at goalie?

Doesn't Petersen have one more year of college before he can turn UFA? Why wouldn't he wait to see what the Sabres do with Lehner first?

2 games = very significant for a young swede.

An entire season for Lehner he still can't shake the "oft injured" rep he never earned.

Your a beaut.

im not sure what that proves? His GAA is low, so in general they dont give up many goals but his save percentage is low, leading me to the conclusion that he doesnt face many shots per game.

Lehner is the immediate goalie like Tyrod is the immediate QB. I bet we sign Lehner to a two or three year bridge deal.

I'd be stunned if he doesn't come out this year. Everyone in hockey and likely his advisers too know he won't be hotter coming out then right now.

If this is true, then I don't see why he wouldn't want to test the market. What's the upside of him signing with us?
