He's just a very lonely guy. There's no one around to tell him how horrible he is.

I'm a firm believer that a lot of this seasons misfortunes rest on Hakstol. Look at Toronto's roster compared to Philly's and what Babcock has gotten out of them. Obviously the players are the ones at the end who take the blame but I'm just so sick of hearing "We did a lot of good things tonight" Agree? Disagree? Maybe I'm just bitter because of no playoffs!

Wow this is like watching paint dry. Between the constant buy season tickets for next year plugs and the incredible quotes from players talking about a scenario where the Flyers can make the playoffs I'm not really sure what reality is anymore.

The Flyers have been out of it for 2 weeks now.

Defensive prospects and potential aside, until the Flyers sign a top flight offensive NHL superstar, the Flyers will lose season ticket holders and not really be in the mix as an elite team.

Examples of an NHL superstar: Crosby, McDavid, Malkin, Seguin, Kucherov, P. Kane, Tarasenko, Ovechkin, Matthews, Tavares.

Unfortunately with the salary cap most of these players are unattainable until FA status. Multi-player blockbuster deals are few and far between.

Two thought come to my mind, one is on he should. I don't want a trade made just to make a trade. If a deal presents itself that can make the team better now and or in the future, then I'm all for it. Secondly, in order to know that he seems stubborn to make a trade involving a core piece, we would need to know if he has even gotten any offers, or even if he has tried to.

Simmonds embodies everything you could want in a hockey player. Tough. Gives it his all. Great teamate. Great leader and character. Productive.

I'm pretty sure every team could use a guy like Simmonds. And of those teams and overwhelming amount would over pay for such services.

That'd be a gut wrenching tradr, but it could be a haul that could help the Flyers both short and long term.

Maybe, maybe not, but if he has gotten any offers, and he doesn't like the offers, then that doesn't make him stubborn about it. We knew this was going to be a process and it was going to take considerable time. Nothing has changed about that.
