I really wish I bookmarked it but someone put together some stats for goalies relating to how they did in games with 30+ shots and how they did in games where they faced less than 30. I think every single goalie they did it for had a better sv% when facing more shots and they excluded games where they were pulled since that'd quite obviously skew the results.

So I guess what I'm saying is Marty was more than likely a better goalie than his sv% suggests. Maybe significantly so.

I wouldn't have traded him for any other goalie, something needs to be said for consistency and longevity. Never really had a bad season until his late 30's.

Love Lou. With Lou and Shanahan there and now super generational American Matthews, I'll be rooting for you guys in the East.

Conte and the drafting is what really (frank)ed the Devils bad. Lou is sometimes loyal to a fault. I get that they drafted late, but 1st round picks under the Lou regime since Zajac are Bergfors, Corrente, Tedenby, Josefson, Larsson, Matteau, Quennville.

- Mr.Bobby

I guess Jersey's great run had to end eventually, same as Detroit. Tough to keep drafting late like you say and keep it going. At least they're not in the mushy middle, they'll get a shot at some high picks now.

Unfortunately for Schneider he doesn't have two first ballot HOF defenseman and a handful of very good Dmen in front of him. Or Lemaire.

I'm pretty sure I saw Hall's soul leave his body when they did a long take of the bench during the game.

Anyone see Logan yet? I saw it last night with my brother. The little girl is a dead ringer for Auston Matthews. It's uncanny.

What would the suspension be for decapitation.

One night he only faced 6.
- The Shrike

That was so (frank)ing brutal. The Leafs have been eliminated in two of the most sickening ways possible. And then there were those two years where Sundin scored to stave off elimination in the dying seconds, only to subsequently get ganked in overtime anyway.

Man it's been a long time since I watched any playoff hockey where I gave a (frank)...if this Leafs team makes it, I don't know how I'm gonna handle it. I haven't been drinking much for a while...things could get messy around here.

With his rep, he would probably get the Raffi Torres treatment. What did he get for going superman on Hossa? 40 something games?

Was the offending player Crosby or Polak?

At the time, on the hockey boards, I wanted him suspended for an entire season. The closest comparison I can think of is Hunters hit on Lafontaine.

This was one of the worst I've seen in post lock out hockey, and it was a (frank)ing preseason game.

Good point, and I still haven't seen that slash (just the end result) by Crosby the other night. Did the guy have no glove on that hand?

That'd certainly be fair. It could've easily been as bad as the Bertuzzi incident had Niedermayer smashed his head on the ice as he fell down. So dirty.

It wasn't malicious. Should've been a minor penalty but that's it

Janssen only got 3 for that. I was at that game, it was so loud when Karberle hit the boards.

It's amazing no one has been killed. I love physical hockey, but looking back it is amazing what was called "discipline" just a few years ago.

Kaberle was never the same after that.
