Thats been prevalent fir a long time in general terms of age.
If we trade or not my biggest need for us is still a PP QB.
Top level C is always in demand & stud D of course but harder to determine.
So often D comes from lower down the draft its more likely a C goes higher.

Anyone see a deal out there that makes our PP get rockin?
Ignore our current rebuild status & spitball at will who u like.

PP QB is really the least of my worries.

Anyone I would want probably isn't up for sale.

I'm a realist. I want Van to win every game. I also realize that the season is over pretty much and getting a higher draft pick will help the team in the long run, even if it's a weaker draft.

Nice reply. How wanting the entire team to play like its the PO's win or lose & not decide to cheer for anything else & hope other bottom feeders play well & pass us.
Glass 1/2 full approach & not the tankers perspective others choose.

the Canucks are missing a dynamic player regardless of position , so barring having a top 2 pick i really hope JB goes for the wow factor and gets us some dynamic skill , ie a Makar type or Necas, Liljegren , Tolvanen .

I get u but why i go there is we need a point man for not only the PP but for 5vs5 also to help in our overall scoring. We have Edler who has diminshed greatly leaving Stecher Hutton & OJ to come. Those 3 seem ok but none can blast it. Maybe we can live without it & F can do it idk. I target the need cuz any PO push or run needs a PP that can click on many levels. Furthermore its one aspect we can audition new PP lines next year as in BO n the gang but after that our 2nd unit lacks a C that i like after the twins r done. Its a depth consideration for the the future.

My potential WOW picks r MIttelstadt Nico Makar if not a current speed/skilll proven NHLer.

PP just as important as PK and they both suck this year.

As for previous post the glass is half full. I believe in the team and the direction they are headed. I also know it's just not happening this season. I cheer probably louder when they score now they earlier in the year.

I have to leave for Winnipeg now. Have a good day everyone!
If your watching and you see me. Wave haha. First row second deck behind the canucks bench. Right in the middle of the row. My friends season tickets! They are sick.

i did say barring top 2 and Nico is a consensus top 2. Mittelstadt would be nice or a shoot for the moon and try a guy like Heiskanen

Me too but I would take Jost over any center in this draft . if you were hell bent on getting a center.
- VANTEL

Very intriguing.. I really like his game, if he was 6'2 he would have been 3rd in his draft probably.

Since i am on a texting diarrhea run this morning our stable of young offensive wingers we have accumulated we need them all to round out their overall game.
Always a fan of goal scoring but adding a 200' game is truly the aim. Pens for example can score & skate with the best of them but also dog the puck for retrieval. ANY of our kids can figure that out & that is 1 major piece we can use. So far by commitee looks like fun & hopeful but a ways to go yet. BB & Granlund i say r our top kids on overall play but thats not enough. LE i've no worries about. JV can be a very interesting plus when he is done on his maturing & grooming.

I was high on Jost last draft if we acquired another 1st. Still am

Jost is one of the best forwards in college. If the Avs move Duchene, Yost isn't going anywhere!

Would this work...

Tanev, Goldobin, and 3rd for Duchene and a 2nd?

The reason why I am saying Goldobin is because with Baer, Granlund, BB, Dahlen, JV, possibly Boucher....where does Goldobin fit in as a top 6 forward and with PP time. Not to mention we will still have LE for 5 more yrs.

You don't have to fix everything in one year. IMO there are no standout centers so draft one next year
- VANTEL

We are going to be pretty bad for a couple years. We have solid depth at all positions, just need a couple elite players who will get in the next few drafts and to keep adding to that depth. We are finally on the right track.

I'm not on board with us being pretty bad. Not saying we r a PO team either.
What i do see is inconsistency while the team as a group develops its next identity.
Any real large improvements to climb the standings will rely on our D more than anything so how do we think we look there?

Thats the type of trade you make in 2/3 years when the team is trending in the right direction and you need to fill a hole using a position you have depth at. No point in adding a center when giving up our best dman your going to be just as bad next season if not worse.

At this time duchene isnt getting us in to the playoffs and who knows what position we will be lacking in 2/3 years. Could have a log jam at center and be desperate for dmen.

Stay the course keep adding to the prospect pool and in a few years when trending up then look to make the big trade to get you over the hump if need be.

I agree it depends on the dmen. Outside of Tanev you have to wait and see. Young guys can be very up and down.

Where do you see the depth in that position?
