So.... a player with elite speed but average shooting ability or an elite shot who dominates his peers but had trouble in his own end.

Sure I'll buy that and there are stoke decent players in this draft, just no one that's going to be an impact player for years.

I guess you could say that Wellwood had elite vision and saw the game well or that Boucher has an elite shot....... its just the odds of them developing the rest of their game enough to impact at a high level is suspect.

There are players that I like in this draft as well, but I see more Gudbransons and Weiss's than I do Kesslers or Heatleys and I don't see any Sedins or Kopitars

And to me to be called Elite you need a package of skillsets.

And I'm not saying that there arn't players that will play, just that it's a crappy draft to draft high in. Go BPA top 2 or 3 after that is a crap shot so draft need

Last year you had a good idea who the top 3 were even though Columbus surprised everyone and took PLD.

Out of last years draft Tkachuk Matthews Laine Chychrun play in the NHL full time . They were all head and shoulders above this years class.

This year Patrick and Hischier lead the way as the top 2 and there is a lot of concern about Nico H production dropping off the earth. Others question Patrick's health and skating.

There is not one player that will step in this year and be an impact player. It will take years.

Most draft sites can not decide who are the top 10 and people in here can not decide who is the best 10 .

If no one knows who the best 10 are how do you take the BPA?

There's not a single position on the Canucks, nor organizationally where you can say "they're set". Therefore, BPA when it comes to the draft.

I'm not so worried about who they pick because success is in the hands of the player and team development but I am concerned where they pick. Top 5 is expected, top 3 would be fantastic. Anything less would be disappointing but I'll survive.

As far as who we draft, i'm sure JB will get a good player(s).

I'm more interested to see how he positions himself to get the player he wants if indeed he feels that player can be taken further back from say our projected 7-8 slot.
