The Kings would need at least 93, more realistically 94 points to make the playoffs. That means they have to go 8-0-1 in their final 9 games of the season. It's mathematically possible, although extremely unlikely. - tkecanuck341
click bait...the Canes have way more chance but now its less fun to make sense for Ek ! |

The Kings are still very much in this...
Kings could go 9-0 rest of the way and still not make the playoffs |

Meanwhile, the Wild, who are 2-8 in their last 10 are going to close out the season on a 7-0-2 run. That's awesome. |

Some sweet 50/1 action on kings winning cup. Could put all that season ticket money on the kings and retire early ek. |

stop it.
carolina, la and tampa are not in a playoff race.
the only playoff race that exists is the isles/bruins/leafs. - Tumbleweed
There is a pretty good chance the Lightning pass the Islanders tonight, how can you feel so strongly that they are out? |

Isles will still have a game in hand, regardless of tonight's outcomes. |

"Sabres protect Kane, NHL protects Crosby. Amirite?!"
NO |

If Kane isn't protected, it's because they've cut a side deal for him to not be taken. You can't let a player you paid that much for in trade walk for nothing. You just CAN'T. |

LA would have to win out to make the playoffs. And even then..If the Flames finish 5-3 LA is eliminated.
LA is out - Santo_44
True, Flames aren't the closest team though....still next to impossible |

The fact kane was not dealt at the deadline is baffling , then again I guess there's no market for him. |

Let me preface this by saying I don't think Kane is a bad player or that the Sabres should let him walk for nothing.
You can't value a player based on what you paid for him though. When you drive a lemon off the lot sometimes the best option is to scrap it. |

I believe your prediction regarding the LA Kinds to be incorrect...
You have them predicted to finish 41/30/11 however they are already 35/31/7 so unless they have some kind of voodoo to remove a loss (and if they do, please direct that to the Leafs head office), I feel your prediction is incorrect...
I could be wrong though... |

He brings with him the POTENTIAL of alot of unnecessary baggage with off ice problems. There are teams around the league that wont touch him for this reason. |

For sure, just doubt that it's every team like has been suggested. Personally, I hope they can get him extended at a reasonable rate this offseason. He does bring potential risk, but also potential reward. He's a goal scorer in a league that has seen scoring drop. |
