Yeah, pretty much gambling everything on Pacioretty to score 1 goal and Price to be godlike.

Could work...

So pretty much the same plan as the past 5 years, right?

This is his age 29 season. To think he would A) start his decline already or B) change his approach to, conditioning regiment, or way he plays the game moving forward is kind of silly.

Yep - 5 years after this. I predict the last 2, maybe 3 years are a disaster for Pitt's cap, but like we all know, they got a Cup already and maybe more, so it worked out for Pitt either way.

Fortunately the deal also worked out for the Leafs because they got that potentially brutal contract off the books, and Andersen/Kapanen/Rychel out of it.

When is Freddy going to get his due? His play, especially over the last month has us in the playoffs.

Our possession stats suck over the last month. Freddy crushing it is hiding that.

He says been great that's for sure. But you can't take anything away from the way this team has played. They've all been awesome

Kessel would be pretty sweet on the leafs right now.. he will probably age quite well too.. he's played something like 550 games in a row no? He was a great Leaf, and has been great for the Pens. Doubt they regret that trade at all..

Hughson needs to shut the (frank) up about faceoffs, it's so annoying

Possibly.
But its silly to think he would absolutely not make any type of change.
Faced with declining numbers, he could easily change his game a bit or off season regiment...he has Sid to answer to now.. He is already a little better away from the puck since TO.

Judging by your handle and avatar you would be an expert on predicting when a player's decline in play will occur.

People make fun of him being pudgy ...but how many games has he missed due to injury?

Fair enough, he definitely could and might... but we're talking about Phillip (frank)ing Kessel here!

this will be his 7th season in a row where he has played every game I believe. He has a very bad work ethic and dedication, though.

I just did. I am 52.

Very low carbs (ketosis) for 3 months, and now just watch calories closely.

Is there a study that correlates fitness and injury prevention in hockey?

If Phil hasn't been injured because of his excellent dedication and work ethic, then by the same logic Steven Stamkos must have terrible work ethic and dedication.

Our PP is awesome, and that seems sustainable with essentially 2 #1 units. Our PK has been very good too.

But ES, we are getting out played. We are getting out shot. Freddy has been the difference maker.
