they'll have Fucale, McNiven and Lindgren fighting for goaltending spots next season with the Rocket
Unless Montoya gets claimed in the expansion draft, then Lindgren may get Price's backup job |

top 3 in the division make the playoffs, they are tied for 3rd but officially 4th since they played an extra game |

7th round pick, plays on a stacked team with Sergachev this year.
I'd say potential 4th liner
...with the Rocket - stinger67

Well, if they actually manage to develop some instead of turning to the waiver wire, or trading for them, it will be a positive step. |

Jennifer B Cutler: Habs stumble against the Hurricanes and lose 4-1 - Jennifer B Cutler
here's a serious blog idea for you Jennifer. what does a g.m like bergevin do if he can't or won't go into a true rebuild a la Edmonton, Toronto, Pittsburgh, Chicago ? how do you build a Stanley cup winning team drafting between #20 and #30, year in, year out, with maybe the odd exception? how do you consistently accumulate assets when drafting as late as the canadiens usually do? what is the formula? is there an organization out there that is a model for winning a cup the way the bergevin is going about it? or, is tanking for 3-5 years the only way to accumulate real assets and maybe a generational player or 2 to build a real winning foundation?
chew on that, cutler. props and flops is a fools game, kind of dull to "knowledgeable" habs fans. move on! evolve. |

Also habs picked 5th the Crosby year and 3rd a few years ago. They suxked balls for 20 years and had nothing to show for it.
Goes beyond tanking |

good point but do the canadiens have a lidstrom(3rd round)? a datsyuk(6th round)? a Zetterberg(7th round)? an yzerman(#4 overall)? what does bergevin have to show for his 5 years? |

Rob. You asked if there was another way besides tanking. I said yes, Detroit good drafting through 3-6. You reply do they have these things? If they did you wouldn't be asking the (frank)ing question in the 1st place. |
