Pretty funny.. I seriously don't see how people make an arguement for Laine. All you have to do is watch the game and you see all the little things Matthews does that Laine just can't or doesn't have to do. Like the footwork. Matthews digs out pucks, makes plays, goes to the front of the net, battles in front of the net, wins face offs etc.. Laine just bee lines it up the ice after his teammates dig out the puck and gets open to receive a pass.. once again, Laine is a great player but look at the Jets vs the Leafs last year. Who was the better team? Now who's the better team?? It's actually incredible how Laine has 1 more point even though he plays with all-stars on his line.. Also I should point out the Leafs picked up Freddy, Zaits, Marner etc which goes a long way to helping them make the playoffs, but still.. If you had to pick one or the other to build a team around and you don't say Matthews without hesitation, you are a terrible judge of hockey talent.

Reading this morning that since the ASG, Nylander leads all rookies in scoring.

I remember earlier in the season saying I'd only trade Nylander for 'D help' if that help was someone like OEL. I got destroyed for that opinion. Seems reasonable to me, still.
