(frank), Medical school would have been the easy route - 4 years, fixed program and some summers off... instead it was 5 years of working 60 or more hours a week for Richard all money (but also, no debt )...

Med school and residency are a much harder grind than a Chemistry doctorate.

If you went to McMaster the medical degree is only 3 years. Thought you were a good old Hamilton lad?

English, but Hamilton is my wife's hometown. I did a year at Mac on exchange from my university back at home for undergrad.

For med school it depends... when in just the schooling part for the first bit it's not too bad, but then when residency kicks in it gets crazy

I think you need to look at the whole package of school and residency since more med schools combine schooling and practice in the teaching hospitals starting in first year.

Not belittling your work demands nor complexity but medicine is tougher.

Engineering doctorates are much easier and leisurely, making them not worth doing unless you want to be an academic.

The real joke is when he posts his predictions after the games have been played. Look for the edit tomorrow morning.

I guess school to school could be different - A few of the folks who went through the PhD program with me in Edmonton then went to med school afterwards and commented that the first two years was fairly relaxed compared to grad school (especially with no teaching) - but then it really cranked up the pressure from there when they got into their last couple of years.

Seriously these daily projections r silly.
Post something tangible instead of this.
Up the quality & lessen the quantity.

Don't listen to them Ek. This stuff will help me tomorrow when I place my bets on tonight's games. Hoping for a 70% win ratio

Fingers crossed.

Pardon me for asking, Sir. That PhD of yours, is it by any chance in Math or Physics...?
