Guess the Washington Generals didn't get the message to lay down for the Trotters tonight.
Hawks being outplayed. Period. - TexasFlood
Hopefully they can mount a comeback effort here in the 3rd and eke out a point. |

Are you happy with the play of the last two games and the start of this one? Prior to the Avs game they had been on a tremendous role. The last 2 games and this one so far has been sloppy and no where near the level of play the were at for those 20 games where they went 17-3. - EbonyRaptor
Anisimov being out hasn't helped. They had found some lines that were clicking up and down. Now mixing and matching again. |

Pretty much. They're bound to have a few clunkers in an 80 game season and IIRC, a bad one in the last 10 or so games wasn't exactly a predictive factor of this team curling up in the fetal position and quitting in the playoffs. - HawkintheD
That was supposed to be sarcastic. The point I was trying to make was that the Hawks played very well going 17-3 before the game on Sunday against Colorado. But trends and momentum shifts throughout the season and the last thing you want is to go into a bad stretch with 10 games left in the season. The game against the Avs on Sunday and the Canucks on Tuesday and so far through 40 minutes tonight look to me like their level of play has decreased considerably. I care less about getting points at this point because the Hawks are in - what I care about is playing well going into the playoffs and the arrow is definitely pointing down at this point. Now, if they can get back to playing at the level they were at while going 17-3 over the next couple games - then these stinkers mean nothing. So - it's not crisis time yet - just alarming and I'm ringing the alarm.

Kane caught cherry picking and Dallas ties the game. Hey Kane - try thinking of winning the game more than the scoring race. You were ahead 1-0 and defense should be the priority - not sneaking out early when puck possession was in doubt.
5 minutes left in the 2nd and the Hawks have a whopping 12 shots on goal against one of the worst defensive teams in the league ... but nothing to worry about because the Hawks have taken 35 points out of a possible 42. - EbonyRaptor

Won't be happy with just a point considering the point of the season. This team is tough to figure.
And the Wild losing to boot. |

No worries, though you might want to consult Darth on the art of sarcasm. Since this team started winning Cups they've had a penchant for playing down to the level of their competition. To me it's not alarming, just the 74th game in a long season on a Tuesday night that they largely haven' shown up for.

Great catch Etch....I started to think about that and you're right!! Against the top teams he plays a decent 200' game but against dogs.....he's floating in the neutral zone like a kid's birthday balloon. Oh well, lets see if the boys can get two with the Wild getting 0 in their loss to Philly. |

don't think they have been playing that poorly...the last handful of games have been strange...crawford stoning 120 shots over 3 games to get wins and then that aberreration of 4 in 10 shots vs those nucks...big 3rd period rallys...
if anything shot selection and passing has been a bit questionable

Time to put schmaltz back between 72 and 88. Like Hartman better on the wing.

I've liked his game tonight. Lots of jump, making some nice passes and going hard to the net. Sure he's had some blagh moments too but the effort is there. |

Seems that there's just too much talent of this club to be so mediocre with the man advantage. |

Kruger standing around on the tying goal

Driving the net is a smart play and by doing that he screened the goalie so he couldn't see Hossa's shot. It's a little thing but it's those little plays that Kruger does that help win games.
