I could say Eichel is being held back, but I don't think that's the point.

I don't look at it on an individual basis. I look at it on a team basis. And I don't think he is getting the results he should with this talent.

And I don't base that on individual players stats, I base that on the number of times this team failed to compete for 60 minutes. And I base it on the number of times they were not ready to play from the first puck drop. And I base it on the number of games they lost by one goal, or by one goal and an Empty Netter.

And I say that the way the play the game, and their fragility, and the number of times they choked when they had a chance to take the next step, are ALL on the coaching staff, and are the difference between this team being described as "flawed and ineffective", and this team being described as "talented and missing a few crucial pieces."

I think u could say all that about last year's Columbus team
Or this year's Florida team
Or last year's Calgary team

My point here is that YOUNG teams have trouble with CONSISTENTLY
And when u figure in the injuries we had, it makes sense that we'd struggle

Those things u point to about losing close games, starting slow, or even blowing leads bc they're "sitting back"
Paul Hamilton is saying they aren't being coached that way
So are they tuning out the coach?
Or are they having confidence issues that affect their decision making?

So...
Is it the coach?
Or are these just difficult to take parts of the maturing process?

Probably both
But is the answer a new coach?
Bc the answer for the 2nd part is patience
Idk how much a new coach will make this young team "grow up" faster

Tavares is a top10 player in the NHL
Maybe better
He does immediately be the best player on our team,
including Eichel

If he wants to sign here, it's a "no brainer"
Just like Stamkos

I went heavy on San Jose the other night, and they got shut out by freaking Dallas.

Also had Ryan Ellis in, and swapped him for Subban......Ellis scored 2 goals.
