If they took a 5th or even a 4th for each of them where would we be now? There just is not enough dmen available to play here and in Rochester. Would I have liked to have seen a move? Of course, but there wasn't really interest nor a lot of trades even being made league wide.

the seat will get warmer if petersen does not sign
- homiedclown

TDL may be the final straw, but if Petersen doesn't sign I'll pack for him. He'll be done.

(looks at bogo, kulikov, franson and gorges)
- homiedclown

He wanted Kane and got him. They wanted Myers and he said fine, but we need another dman back so they threw us Bogo. That's what the cost was. Kane is still the best player in the trade.

A lot of real experts (not hockeybuzz GM's) thought kulikov was an upgrade and that the real prize was Asplund.

Franson was a fill in that was given a second (maybe third) chance, no real loss there.

Gorges was fine at first, but age has caught up to him.

There are what 20-25 GMs in the league that have never won the Cup. They all must stink. If you don't win a Cup in your first 4 years as a GM, you should just retire.

Myers was to soft for Murray, that's why he's gone.

I don't think the slash is that big of a deal just because it's Crosby everyone's b!tching about it
Freak accident nothing more

- gerbe75pts

It was a blatant slash that ended in an ugly injury. It may only be a finger, but I had a thumb slammed in a van door once, that was agony for 7 straight days. So, I feel for Methot, I'm sure it's hurting bad right now. And, yes it may be a bit more of a deal because it's Crosby, but that's only because the guy seems to be doing something dirty all the time now, virtually every game, and to not be assets any penalties--EVER!!--has got people justifiably pissed about how the league is run. Next thing you know, they'll be handing the Cup to teams that they want to win... cough... cough...

pay attention here

1. Murray said he did not believe it would take a 5 year rebuild

2. this team is worse in year 3 than year 2

3. the worst 4 d men of the starting 6, is guys murray brought in

4. he got his guys, kane, bogo, okposo, ror, franson, lehner, kulikov, gorges, moulson, gionta and we are worse in year 3, and that's adding eichel and reinhart

5. the pipeline, rochester is a huge mess

6. the pegulas are sick of these sports team being FAR away from competitive

again don't shoot the messenger, it's murray's mess because he was handed a gm's wet dream when he came here and now it's very disoriented with no clear path for success or chemistry

http://www.buffalohockeyb...for-sabres-quick-rebuild/

“When you tear it down, it doesn’t happen overnight,” he said. “I don’t buy into five-year rebuilds. I think when you use terminology like that as a GM you’re really setting yourself up for a long run if your owner buys into that. I could sit here and say it’s a seven-year rebuild and hopefully I get 10 years out of it. But that’s not reality and not what I want anyway."

People are just holding him to his own standards

It's a little too late now they should have did it before free agency...

Now I'm starting to wonder if he's the one constructing the roster right now

That depends who you ask, it starts and ends with Eichel and certain players don't like Bylsma's attitude or comments about certain players. It was touch and go really for little while but now it's just gone.

Like I said a before, don't think for a minute that Pegula won't fire Bylsma because he still has 3 more years on his deal. That's all crap, he cares nothing about that.

How much is he paying Rex Ryan to not be the coach this year? He might start caring about paying multiple million dollar salaries to former employees at a certain point, at least a little bit.

To those kind of people it's basically $20 out of their pocket

People that rich seem to care about the tax rate rising or dropping 1% even though it would be the equivalent to $20 out of their pocket. But yeah - I get your point.

Yep, 4.5 billion, plus assets all over the place. The money Pegula makes on interest alone covers what he pays out in bad contracts and still awards him a nice lifestyle.
