Lemieux had a 19% for his career. So it's not impossible the handsome Fin sustains it, just really unlikely.

what was the NHL avg SV% in the 80s and 90s .. has be be well below .900

19% in the NHL today is basically Stamkos Level. really Rare to average it for a career

Won't they just protect Buff, Trouba and Myers?
- Scabeh

enstrom and buff both have nmc's...so automatic protection.

after that they probably protect myers and trouba and end up exposing dano and a couple other ok forwards.

Don't try and dampen my Sens fan hated. Just... don't.

Oh no, I wouldn't do anything of the sort... I'm more saying that there's so few of them that they're small fries

Oh my.

So they'll go the 8 skater + 1 goalie road huh?

Might be a good idea to buyout enstrom instead....

Winnipeg may be one of the few that go with the 4D protection.... you can however be sure that whatever the right choice is, Chevvy won't make it

Good point.

During the high-scoring 1980s, average saves percentage moved between 87.5% and 88.5%

Buffalo, Winnipeg ... would love to revist some of the september comments about how far ahead of the Leafs these two teams were in the development curve.

Forced to protect Enstrom.

Also even if they buy him out or something

Buff, Trouba and Myers all play the Right Side. As does Morrissey. Their best LD after Enstrom is Stuart LOOOOOOOOOL

It's also easier to shoot 19% when the goalies of the era are concentrating more on snorting coke from off the iron than they are on keeping track of whoever has the puck...
- lumlums

Smaller goalies.

Here's a chart by year: http://imgur.com/7HhIGuE

Avg. Sv % clearly much lower in the Lemieux era than current.

Maybe you can be for the Sens what Ahjay is for the Bruins and Scabs is for the Habs in this thread...?
