Horvat on starting the season on 4th line:

“Obviously, I wanted to be at the top of the lineup. You want to be that one-two guy,” Horvat said. “At the same time, starting me there, pushed me to be better.

“It’s what lit the fire and a reason why I’ve had a good year.”

We made the right choice with OJ. Tkachuck is a bit too one-dimensional but a good player. It was a need we had to fill on D and it was the smarter choice.
- LordHumungous

Tkachuk is a good player. The need on W isn't as big as on D. Canucks need everything tho. But, u build from the back out. W are easier to find than potential 1st pairing Dmen.

Would he look good here tho? oh ya.

That was good

Now do JV

- Redmile247

My friend lays apon his bed unmoving, drooping eyes twitching at the sound of plates and forks, causing full body shudders he drools at the thought of food. Squat in stature, aggressive when needed he overeats somehow, filling his pain one bite at a time. He's butchered smaller animals in his time but now lethargy fills his bowel.
When motivated he brings the speed and shoots dart like forward. Small russles perk him up and bring the focused energy forward, with a high speed twitch he can pounce, destroying smaller animals with his speed and heavy tenacity. That speed is nothing compared to the tenacity with Wick he is known to hunt down cheeseburgers, the sound of crumbs hitting the floor cause this beast to appear in a flash, lightning like hunting down morsels to fill his craving.
Despite his handlers best efforts at dieting, Jake has become observedly obese. Those power moves hide behind a rippling layer of blubber and we can only hope that he can turn it back into smooth muscle before it's too late, for though young in years for his breed he's an elder.
My Jake, my 12.5 year old basset cross is 18 inches tall and 65 pounds.
Our Jake, is a20 year old power forward.
One has much time to turn things around, the other had destroyed both burgers and rodents, mink fear him and coons whisper tales to keep their children in line.
At worse I see our JV being a Torres type, at best his opponents will whisper in fear when he's on the ice.

Sorry i got side tracked by my dog jake and forgot about the other jake. Although I feel they shared a certain bond this summer over a burger or two......

JV's goal vs Providence has me excited again. Thats the Jake they drafted. Down in weight. He looked fast and unleashed the wrister we all know he has. Look out minks.

SJ will be very lucky to make the SCF two years in a row most likely it's not going to happen. JB would be very smart not to plan around the 1st.
- LordHumungous

I don't believe any planning is going on around the SJ conditional 4th.
The draft is fluid & when their homework is done it will play out fine.

I hope so as well.

Juolevi's development/deployment has been pretty odd in London with Mete and later, Sompel, overshadowing O.J in points and play.

While his point totals (in one extra game played) are a carbon copy of his draft season, they did lose some key offensive guys so hopefully that played a part...

Benning sold the fanbase on O.J's big game play in the WJC and OHL playoffs, which coincidentally, kick off tomorrow night. Will be interesting to track his play.

Yes wingers r much easier to find & we r stocked up & time to see how well they do.
Next season & Utica will have many opportunities for them to shine or get groomed.
Passing in Tkachuk says JB is confident OJ will be a top 2 D. That remains to be seen yet but patience for D maturing always looks bad when F's crack a line up. Too early to get excited & pass judgement. This draft will be more important to get it right & we have the picks to get it done.

He's a kid, I'm not worried at all about it. At least he's no Yakupov. It's funny also how 18yo Bennett had seemed to disappear in the bravado they're spitting.

I prefer to look at our potential roster 2-3yrs from now & assess where we might stand. Speculating that far ahead is insanely difficult but thats what our timeline is looking like given our current prospects. At C we r not looking great but wingers we r deep on. Goal scoring without enough top C playmakers is a worry. The D looks to be solid but not overwhelmingly offensive. In goal we look set.

Jim Hughson upped the Bennett hype way too early. I think he will turn out just fine though, Scheifele broke out in his 3rd full season, another summer of bulking up that tiny frame he had and I am sure he will produce

Columbus's 2nd for Bennet? Calgary likes giving up on prospects too early so we should make a pitch

Just luvin the LAK out of the PO's. Many bad contracts & they r overhyped.
Sutters shelf life is up very soon. His coaching style is boring & ancient.

I was pretty sure Calgary was our farm team, they draft and develop and we call them up and give them 2nd round picks to start the cycle over again
