That sticks out in my mind too! I think Panik wants to be in Chicago, hopefully Stan and his agent can find a way to make it work.

yeah, I remember the breakfast comment too. funny. it's the little / extra things that make an impact. 20 goal score, breakfast pays off

i don't understand why a number of people are always seemingly ready to chase Hoss away. How does anyone here really know what he's thinking about the next 4 yrs?? Isn't that what's left of his contract? Please correct me if i'm wrong.

Last night, when he scored, he huddled with Seabs and they looked pissed, like damn right we're gonna win kind of expression. At least that's what i saw. Shows me maybe the fire is still there. And he's still better than a lot of guys 10 to 15 yrs. his jr. Who exactly under contract to the Hawks replaces him??? Giant hole when he sadly does leave.

Hossa is probably still the 4th best forward on the team behind 19, 88, and 72. In four years he'll probably be about the 6th or 7th best. I hope he has a couple more cups by then too!

i don't know, my eyes put him ahead of 72 if you're looking at the all-around play. Which i think makes him right there with 88 in terms of value to the team. Perhaps only 19 eclipses that. Of course, just my opinion, and we all have our own views.

I see what you're saying (I think his contributions help win games more so than Panarins...So far)

I think he meant 'best' on paper.

When you think about it, rolling 3 lines something like:
Hayden-Toews-Panik
Panarin-Anisimov-Kane
Hartman-Schmaltz-Hossa....(wow, what a freakin' 3rd line!!!)

Crazy good. And MASSIVE matchup problems for foes!!!

A 4th line of kruger centering a mixture of Rasmussan, Tootoo, Desjardins, etc

I not only like it....I LOVE it!!!!!

I don't either, any good business man would want a great deal of their money up front, to grow the money they actually have. I believe Hossa will continue to play until he physically can't.

When you combine offense and defense, I think Hossa is the TOP winger on this team. No one does what Hossa does on both ends of the ice.
Hossa's offensive talent is being wasted playing on Kruger's wing. He needs to play with Toews again.

Your Damn Right! The coloring book capologist's are looking at his $$, Rocky and his people basically inferred that this is their version of Bobby Hull / Chris Chelios type player, he's not going anywhere unless he goes directly to The management and says I'm done. Other guys have played till their mid 40's Jagr, Chelios, ect. And have contributed! Hossa is the total epitome of a complete NHL Hall of famer both on and off the ice, the kind of player all these young hockey mommies and daddies should want their little Joey to be like. And I agree with your last statement, A couple of more cups Too!!

And while I'm on a morning coffee rant, when it's all said and done come August and the FA dust has settled...........Corey Crawford is your starting Goalie come Sept. and Darling's Rights are dealt at the draft. This kid ranks right up their with Belfour and other elite goalies. I agree with his team mates , the kid is very under rated and some times under appreciated . Corey Stays! Darling is dealt.

Good point but he's in Chicago so not relevant

Winning is now about a top 9 and Panik fits into that scenario

I would like to think Kero will be playing Kruger for shut down. A TON to ask for but if he is playing with Kruger and say, Tootoo, who actually plays a pretty solid two way game, that is a respectable defensive line.

Ya. Kero and Jerco are part of the "etc" 4th liners I spoke of.

And, let's face it...."Q" likes to run the blender. still I really like the matchup problems our top 3 lines can generate.

I noticed more-so the last 2-3 games....when "Q" has seen the boys lagging a little he has thrown out the Panarin-Toews-Kane threesome to get the team juiced. With Keith on the back end too. I like this from time to time. And also noticed when he HAS done this we have buzzed the opponent net with this collection (no real surprise there....lol)

Panik: that dude, by all appearances, LOVES to play. He ADDS to the positive contagiousness the Blackhawk family endeavors to continue/grow.
He got unburied when he got to Chicago AND he knows it. It would not be surprising if he signed a sane two year bridge or even a moderate 3-4 year deal that the Blackhawk cap can accommodate.

Hossa: sure-fire 1st ballot Hall of Famer. One of the best backcheckers who ever lived. Among 500 goal scorers, the best backchecker ever. You keep this man in Chicago for the rest of his life, not just the rest of his career.
