Nothing official yet, but it appears Jaroslav Halak will rejoin the #Isles in Pittsburgh today.

Ok last night the Islanders had no reason to win that game last night. They looked really bad. They couldnt clear the zone for most of the game. Most guys were standing there twittling their thumbs. Bailey looked Atrocious going back to his scared to play in meaningful games. Nelson is just bad real bad at this point I would just sit him for a few games until he learned what the game of hockey is about. Hickey I dont know what to say about him anymore. This team just looks real bad and a performance like that against the Pens we might see a 10 nothing win or something like that. If I am Doug Weight I am pissed right now with his team performance

I'm not happy with Nelson either, but he ain't sitting while Strome's out and it certainly looks to be a long-term thing.

I understand but right now he is hurting the team more than helping the team. Maybe shift him to the fourth line for a little while and move Cizikas up.

Also once againg Ho-Sang impressed last night. He was all over the place. I think he should be up on the first line as Bailey I didnt even know if he was in the building last night. Well I did after that errand pass right on one of the Rangers stick that they almost scored on but besides that

how the freak do they let Grabner get that Breakaway.. this defense is fken maddening. You are up a goal with a PP and a Minute left... The only thing you can't allow is Grabner behind u... I am still furious.

Bailey still sux... I don't give a sht how many points he has this year. he is a fken turd who doesn't skate, can't clear the zone, still does stupid high risk dumb passes... fck that guy too.

Brock Nelson is just brutal at this point.. brutal.

Can someone teach these guys how to do a face off? We lost the last 7 face offs in that game.. 7. The stats are horsepoop... we did not win the Face off battle in that game. We lost every one I watched.

A few random thoughts on last nights game and the aftermath......

Isles skaters didn't deserve to win. Greiss bailed them out repeatedly.

Rags played well for a team with so little to play for. They are in the playoffs sweet spot that the Islanders were in last season. (Vs. Atlantic, not Metro teams)

Mayfield showed perhaps more guts than brains in taking on Glass who is part of the dying breed of enforcers. I remember when Glass was with Vancouver and he dropped Matt Martin with one punch.

If Snow protects Nelson or Hickey in the expansion draft, he shouldn't just be fired. He needs to be drawn and quartered.

Islanders again control their own destiny. If they keep winning, they make the playoffs.

I know this board has had lots of Bailey haters and I stuck up for him b/c I knew he was better than stated here. Strome on the hand got benefit of being kept in juniors, play in AHL . that guy just outright sucks. I mean is his stick made of STONE?

Him being shelved will be a blessing. Time to move on from Strome.
Nelson drive me crazy too but at least he has skill, he just lazy.

Nice win by isles. Its Tavares worst game of season by far. Greiss, Beau, and JSH stole the show. Not many teams can win a game when their best players stinking it up.

Maybe he can unprotect himself GArth I mean. Maybe Vegas will take him. If he protects those two he should be fired on the spot

Stop with Bailey please. For a few years we heard how much you are in love with him. Face it he is not that good of a hockey player and hopefully will be off the team next year. Honestly if he goes some where else will you follow him and still be his number one fan??

Bailey actually laid some of the hardest checks of the night. Nelson fanning or missing golden chances was unacceptable for a pro hockey player.

Well said John. I'd still rather trade Nelson then lose him in the draft.

I forget who it was but they said "lucky Leddy was on the ice." Leddy might be one of the fastest skaters in the league.

Wouldn't have mattered anyway, Grabs would have hit the post or missed wide. MSG is cursed this year.

Grabs is the right guy to give up a breakaway to. I think MSG was cursed when someone came up with the dopey worlds most famous arena.

I don't think that's true. If they win their game in hand they will be tied with Boston but Boston has more ROW's.
