You're going to have to be more specific.

Can I guess that you're upset that Bean is a 2nd-team guy?

I just looked him up, he's actually 19. Not that I am correcting you, but when is he eligible to be signed by an NHL team? I assume if he can't that someone will be drafting him this year?

Technically this was his 18 year old season, next year is his 19 year old year.

Don't think he can sign until the end of next season. He can play two more years, but can be drafted this year I think.

Gotcha, I see what you meant.

I would imagine someone snatches him up in the 2nd/3rd round or something like that.

5-0-3 in the last 8.

Doubt that keeps up, but gonna have to if there's any hope at all.

3 more losses in any combination and they're done.

Can't rule out Garth trading up at the draft. Seems to be a yearly occurrence lately.

Garth loves to trade up to get an extra 1st round pick. DeHaan, Nelson, Ho-Sang, Beauvillier......

For sake of discussion, I wonder if Weight was coach of the team during training camp, if Barzal got a chance to make the team? I wonder if he would have been handled differently.......meaning, would he have been sent down right away, or given actual playing time with the big club?

Doubt it, Barzal just wasn't ready. He'll get his chance this upcoming year.

Perhaps, but I think after reading about him basically dominating at the junior level, one could make an argument that he could have succeeded at the NHL level. Either way its wasted breath, it was just a thought i had, as I never understood why sitting in the press box did anything for his "developement". My original question was if that was a Capuano thing or if Weight would have handled that differently?

I don't think Weight would've played Barzal a lot. Similar philosophy. He did scratch Beauvillier for Quine last week and he's flipping the lines a lot the last 2 weeks. Sound familiar?

I totally hear you, but swapping playing 3/4 into the season is a bit different than giving someone a shot to make it outta the gate.

Nobody "traded up" to draft him. Snow traded Reinhart for two picks, one of which was used to select Barzal. It was good that Snow was able to salvage something for Reinhart, who Snow wasted a 4th overall pick on.

Well technically Barzal did make the team, but I see what you're saying. Yeah, I think Weight has shown the willingness to rely on rookies in some really big spots. I think Barzal would have at least played 10 or so games before a decision was made.

I said extra. Barzal was our top 1st round pick that draft, thanks to the Vanek trade.
