Sid is a beast. Since Malkin went down he has this team on his back.

Bedtime for the Sabres trolls. Nite nite.

He scores the goal of the year, and spear of the century!
He is truly the best player in NHL, but, why does he have to be such a cheap shot artist?!
I guess he has character issues!

Cindy's action, or lack of, personifies his character. A promising linemate is knocked silly and Cindy just stood there. Tells me that Cindy doesn't have Guentzel's back and that is a problem for a team. I wonder when Guentzel comes back if he will go after a player that hits Cindy in equal fashion. Will any of Cindy's teammate think twice about jumping in and supporting Cindy after a hit? I wonder what chain reaction this sets into place. Pittsburgh showed itself as a soft team, with a cowardly leader. Gutless reaction by Cindy and I think this will hurt his team mindset going forward. Chicken.

And, again, Cindy's actions personify who he is. He takes a cheap shot to O'Reilly when he thinks no one is watching. Cindy is a gutless coward. Your team may get goals from him, but his character is one of a -meow-. Do you Pittsburgh fans love Marchand's cheap antics??? He is a similar high skill player who plays dirty when he thinks no one is looking.

There's no way you're a real person. Do you have a mother? A sister? Do you show them such little respect? Calling him a woman's name like somehow that makes you superior. There's no way any female can ever be within 10 feet of you and I feel sorry for the poor girl who's options are so few that she had to settle for you. You are a moron.

"Its a clean play" Once again, this is why we are calling you uneducated hockey fans. Blows to the head, are not clean. Charging, which is what he was doing as well, also illegal.

Please stick to NHL 2007, or your own team's blogs where stupid opinions are embraced and celebrated.

- Guile

It's charging and interference. It was also a Kronwal special and those types of hits where most of the contact is through the side and back of the player, like when you set up to make a hip check but then font crouch, should be illegal. Kronwall has ruined many a career with that hit. https://youtu.be/G-0DoppiaSE

I mean please point to one player who never had a questionable play? The only reason why you're speaking about it is because it's Crosby. If it was Ian Cole it wouldn't even be in this thread

He turns it up when Crosby turns it up. McDavid is a special player I'm jealous of Edmonton they get to watch him destroy the NHL for the next 15-20 years. I'm not complaining we've been blessed here during my lifetime

Its questionable. Everyone has one at one time or another.

I actually love the hit, especially because its from a guy you typically wouldnt expect it from.

Ah true. He's still a saint. Even the pope touches a boy or 2 here or there. But in the end, he means well.

Kinda sucks the Jackets and Caps are squaring off tonight...means at least one team will get 2 points...whit a decent chance of it being a 3 point game.

Theres obvious survivorship bias or something going on in those graphs.

Only took a quick scan, but theres no way data can be right that has defenseman peaking at 22. Nearly every defenseman who became a star hit that at a much higher age. I could buy 25-28 for the best defenseman years.

But all the star defenseman seem to have their best years much older than 22. Hedman was awful then. Letang started a good run around 22/23, but his performance hasn't slipped at all. Burns was a late bloomer. I can think of a few top defenseman who started really contributing at 22 but I can think of a ton of late bloomers or ones who maintained that level for a while.

Only a few guys I can think of who peaked early and declined. Phaneuf maybe tyler myers.

Archibald re called. No Rust tonight. I thought he woulda made a comeback tonight for sure. No word on Geno. That's a lot of time missed from a blocked shot. It has to be something else.

I don't know, he took that slapshot point blank to the shoulder. That could easily cause a deep bone bruise making it difficult to shoot and move that shoulder. Deep bone bruises can be really painful for a weeks. They're probably being overly cautious so he doesn't injure it further.
