Tells me that Cindy doesn't have Guentzel's back and that is a problem for a team. I wonder when Guentzel comes back if he will go after a player that hits Cindy in equal fashion. Will any of Cindy's teammate think twice about jumping in and supporting Cindy after a hit? I wonder what chain reaction this sets into place. Pittsburgh showed itself as a soft team, with a cowardly leader. Gutless reaction by Cindy and I think this will hurt his team mindset going forward. Chicken.

Your team may get goals from him, but his character is one of a -meow-. Do you Pittsburgh fans love Marchand's cheap antics??? It's charging and interference. It was also a Kronwal special and those types of hits where most of the contact is through the side and back of the player, like when you set up to make a hip check but then font crouch, should be illegal. He turns it up when Crosby turns it up. McDavid is a special player I'm jealous of Edmonton they get to watch him destroy the NHL for the next 15-20 years. I'm not complaining we've been blessed here during my lifetime

Its questionable. Everyone has one at one time or another.

Theres obvious survivorship bias or something going on in those graphs.

Only took a quick scan, but theres no way data can be right that has defenseman peaking at 22. Nearly every defenseman who became a star hit that at a much higher age. I could buy 25-28 for the best defenseman years.

But all the star defenseman seem to have their best years much older than 22. Hedman was awful then. Letang started a good run around 22/23, but his performance hasn't slipped at all. Burns was a late bloomer. I can think of a few top defenseman who started really contributing at 22 but I can think of a ton of late bloomers or ones who maintained that level for a while.

Only a few guys I can think of who peaked early and declined. Phaneuf maybe tyler myers.

I don't know, he took that slapshot point blank to the shoulder. That could easily cause a deep bone bruise making it difficult to shoot and move that shoulder. Deep bone bruises can be really painful for a weeks. They're probably being overly cautious so he doesn't injure it further.
