If you watch Risto without listening to the homer color-guy, Ristolainen is skating backward into the play to make a hip check -- he is absolutely lining him up. Ristolainen is anticipating that play. He cannot pull up in the time from the puck getting tipped, but, he certainly does not follow through on the hit. Additionally, he is not targeting Guentzel's head -- Geuntzel is out of position because of the bad pass. Risto has his hip and back end out for the hit. Unfortunate result. I wish Guentzel a speedy recovery. This should not be suspendable. The league will acknowledge the game misconduct and echo that Ristolainen does not have a track record of dirty hits.

And, while you're glorifying Crosby for walking through an AHL defense, let's talk about the real Cindy Crosby. After seeing his linemate get crushed, for attempting to receive a horrible pass that put Guentzel in a vulnerable position, Cindy doesn't take any action. Doesn't swing his purse at Risto -- nothing. Just stands there like a little beyotch.

Risto hit no different than sesito hit. Both hits involved the guy making the hit putting himself in a position where he couldn't stop. Still an illegal hit. If you didn't put the onus on the hitter to prevent an illegal hit by being under control then guys could just take runs at each other all day and then say at the last .5 seconds they were already comitted to the hit based on what they thought was going to happen.

Have the Penguins gotten a new training/health staff within the past ten years? It just seems like being "unlucky" is not a good answer in terms of the amount of injuries the Penguins have sustained compared to every other team in the league. I hate to put blame on the health and training staff for something that could really just be unlucky, but it just seems very unlikely the that the Penguins have been the most injured team so often and they are not to blame.

Problem is he gets hit with cheap shots all the time and gets shouted at for saying something about it. So he couldn't beat them he joined them and started doing cheap shots. Now he's shouted at for doing what others do to him. People like you will cry about it no matter what because you have nothing worth while in your life to talk about and your team isn't worth talking about either. I hope that changes so you can feel happiness one day.

Cindy's action, or lack of, personifies his character. A promising linemate is knocked silly and Cindy just stood there. Tells me that Cindy doesn't have Guentzel's back and that is a problem for a team. I wonder when Guentzel comes back if he will go after a player that hits Cindy in equal fashion. Will any of Cindy's teammate think twice about jumping in and supporting Cindy after a hit? I wonder what chain reaction this sets into place. Pittsburgh showed itself as a soft team, with a cowardly leader. Gutless reaction by Cindy and I think this will hurt his team mindset going forward. Chicken.
